NOW HEAR THIS:

Fellow GOGlodytes,

Six months ago we set up a temporary giveaway to fill the void left by the departure of various regular gifters on this forum, and to honour both them and other missing GOGlodytes. As time has passed, it has become apparent that this giveaway is no longer temporary, but a more permanent fixture.

Entry is simple: state that you're entering. A $10 game of your choice if you win.

On our behalf (and to maintain anonimity), Sachys has agreed to host and manage the giveaway process.

Post to be entered. Our identities are not to be revealed by the winners - or else their future entries will be refused.

Kind Regards,
The Sigil

ADDITIONAL:

This is a simple lottery - one person, one entry. Entries for anyone other than yourself and your own personal gaming enjoyment will not be counted.
All entrants must have an avatar and something other than "new user" as their "forum title".
The title can be changed , and the avatar HERE.
Entries not adhering to these requirements will not qualify.

YOU MAY RETURN TO YOUR GOGLODATION!

ENTRIES CLOSE WEDNESDAY JULY 9TH AT 9PM GMT

...and from me guys: if you could please refrain from bumping the thread, it would be a great help as it makes keeping tally and checking for double entries a little difficult.

For additional fun and participation this week (does not affect your entry)...

Your favourite DOS era games and why (links preferred if not sold on GOG).
Count me in again,

first when i heard about this site, would be dungeon keeper 1, it's so awesome, then i realise it had settlers too, those r fun games.
Me, Me, ME! I used to love the game Realms. Found it on abandonia, and decided to give it a quick whirl for some nostalgia. Technically that's pirating, but wasn't going to keep it.

It didn't age well, but I really liked it back in the day.
ill join in once again :D
I'd like to be in as well, thanks!

One game that comes to mind is Dark Ages. It's even available for free now!
Count me In.

I think I've mentioned it before, but "Sword of Aragon" was a real favorite of mine. SSI games in general were always great, had a lot of fun with "Wizard's Crown" too, that had an AWESOME random loot generation system, at the time it was one of the greatest things I'd ever seen in a game. It meant that every drop was unique to your game, not the same as every other game of it played.
Oh, and I can't forget Mad TV either! Many hours playing that old thing.
I'll join.

Don't really visit the GOG forms much. Should probably start.

Favorite game from the DOS era would be Doom 2(if that counts) Was literally the first video game I played.
I'm in!

Best DOS era games: so many!

Maybe those that I particularly loved when I was little were:
- Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis
- Xwing
- System Shock 1
- Heretic 1
- Tyrian

Mouthpiece of the Bandar-log & The Sigil, thanks! In, please.

Maybe not my favorite, but what comes to mind spontaneously is Lemmings, where I recall passing on going to a concert due to being mesmerized by the game.

Heh, I completely missed previous round :)
This week I§m in.

As for dos game. I've always had a weakness for old czech point-n-click adventures. They were always full of humour, relatively simple and were czech. None of them are on GOG. As far as I know.
I'm in, thanks for the giveaway.

I think that the only DOS era game that I have played is Doom. But I will try to play more of them, as they still look fun.

I'm in, thank you
In and +1

Not entirely sure, but I think it's a match-up between Sword of the Samurai and Master of Orion 2. Those are the DOS games I played the most, and for the longest period of time (still do) .
Not in, but I had a lot of fun one summer playingTwilight 2000. It's a turn-based strategy game. I never did finish it. :-(
I'm in

I used to play a lot of ducktales: Quest for gold, it was actually the first game I've played (PC game that is, I've played a bit with atari and the wolf catching eggs handheld)
And then there was Dungeon master, Syndicate, Indiana Jones & the fate of Atlantis and many more. It was a great time with DOS only, everything was so much simpler :D
