innocuous77: Honestly, that's why we do this. It's not just about beating the game. It's about taking on challenges.

We rarely get fanfare and a +2 Staff of Teaching for doing a good job (although I got a Christmas card with a really sweet note). Games (with all their bugs) let us do that.

Sorry... nostalgia and a GOG sale are dangerous for me. I keep being nice. Dammit.
That's given me the giggles - I can hear my helmet rattling ;-)
Amusing side note - this thread is now over 7 times the size of the official thread. I find that deeply amusing. =)
Funny thing... I keep refreshing the main page and I see nothing new.

I know we hated it and bitched during the Summer sale, but we spent money. I'd kill to see the sales data from this sale compared to last Summer and the Fall sale...
Yep, I'm a data geek.

donsanderson: The reason I was laughing was that we were just discussing the peaceful, friendly little family we have here in this thread and in bursts an enraged cookie monster! Just couldn't help it. :-) sorry

PaterAlf: But at least I posted something constructive, before I started ranting (the fact that there is a +5 rep limit per day).

And no need to say sorry. The more I think about it, the more I see that it is in fact funny. These old games were so unforgiving, but with today's easy and casual stuff around, you tend to forget it and don't expect such kind of punishment from a game any longer.
Thanks, and thanks for posting about the +5 limit, our friend Stilton has a chance at that second star. ;)

Getting people to spend money isn't all that hard, comparatively. Question is, how many will remember later? We will, because we're creating our own experience and breathing life into it out of the simulations chunks we were provided with. But will others? I wouldn't bet on it.

Just glimpsed the front page and saw The Bladder Saga. What would Freud have to say about that, I wonder?

See??? That's what the horns are for on the Viking helmet:)

(still miffed about the 85%)

That you might need to visit the restroom in case a sudden eruption sends matter flying from not one, not two, but three separate orifices? =)

There's an official thread?
Ok, the Quest for Stats-Restoration has to wait until tomorrow...

Have to go to bed now.

Good night, everyone!

But you're forgetting the best part of the Summer-like sales...it wasn't that we spent money (which we did at an alarming rate), but we also forged community. When was the last time you saw me here?

You know perfectly well when. =) And yes, I get your point. A dead simulation won't sustain itself. But a community will.
