Have they really done it twice now? I thought I only missed it once... uh oh... I have a feeling that we won't see it for a while then.

I took from here/Pidgeot's list until this morning, been updating it every couple hours since the new specials.

Hm. I can't sort out which data is more reliable. I ran a check on Pidgeot's list, and I can get it to around 78 or so repeats, but it's missing a few you have. That's after marking the duplicates, sorting them together, and deleting the repeated rows. Not sure what to make of that.

That's a definite improvement over what I had from my original scrapped together data, but doesn't really explain where we're diverging, aside from actual observation/gathering from the posts here. I'd bet that's most of it, honestly.

So! I haven't had a chance to pay too much attention to the sales, and I don't really have time to read the 46 pages in this thread, so I apologize for asking beforehand if this has already been answered - is there any kind of pattern to the sale? (Are the same games on sale over and over again?)

I'm asking because I'm hoping to see either of the following games:
Blade of Darkness
Risen
Banished

and I'm wondering what the chances are of catching either of them in a flash deal. Thanks to anyone who replies!

None of those have been in a flash sale.

And to my knowledge, no discernible pattern has been figured out. Although currently they seem to be going back over some previous deals, from what I can tell.

I was just wondering if there was some kind of pattern, and maybe someone would be able to predict whether these games will show up later on. :) I'm simply not able to keep an eye on the sales 24/7, so it'd be helpful to get an idea of whether there's any reason to stop by whenever I can to look for these games.

Gotcha. I was just thinking that if there was any kind of pattern to it, maybe someone would be able to tell me whether or not these games will show up. Seems I'll just have to stop by whenever I can and hope that I catch them if they're up for grabs. (I suppose Banished probably won't dip below 50%, but the two others might show up in a flash sale.)

So I had an idea. I'm using Is There Any Deal waitlist email notification to let me know if the games I want go over 50% - in other words, flash deal. Their tracker does seem to take some time to update the prices, but it should be enough (from my not so reliable "test" it took half an hour or something to update the price after Space Colony HD went 66% on gog's homepage).

If anyone wants to try it, just remember to set the waitlist notification to "as soon as possible".

I even set gmail a nice custom notification to warn me if I receive an email about the games I want.

Let's hope this works and that I don't have to get up in the middle of my sleep to buy a game =P

Well, I have managed to miss the start of the last 3 sales, and getting the games I want for a better deal consequently. Will try again on the next one.
