Why so sad? Deadly Premonition participates in the Flash Deals. :-)
This is going to be a long night for me, If I fall asleep there's no way I'm going to wake up for the last freebie on my own. I'll wait it out while playing something else, probably a scary game :D
Same here, but I don't like scary games and have to find another way to stay awake for the rest of the night. Have to keep our cats away for me, otherwise I will fall asleep - but I'm still hoping to maybe get Banished for a nice price...

I'm so sad because I keep missing it. Typical, the one I keep missing is the one I most want. That said, discovered Deponia thanks to these sales, so all is not lost (have been LOVING the first one). Wish I could set off an alarm for the next time DP appears (if it appears again).

It's appeared SIX times?!? How the heck have I missed it all six of those times??? AAAAAAHHHH! Well, maybe it will come around once more for a lucky number seven. Thanks for the list!

I haven't used it myself but a helpful user (I think it was skeletonbow) mentioned earlier that it's possible to get a notification via this site:

I would be very surprised if it didn't. :)

You're welcome but I'm merely one messenger among many. The magnificent summer sale trackers responsible for providing us with all the helpful information are all mentioned by IAmSinistar in the initial post of this thread:

Thanks for the Torchlight gift code, GOG! :)
Flash contest #5 is up. I got a few of them but no dice on all 5 this time either. :)

srilumpa: So am I.

I also expect Banished to have a more than 50% discount although until the 4th freebie arrives I'm hoping it will be the 4th one (though I expect Alan Wake American Nightmare to be the 4th freebie).

For now, it's goodnight everybody.
Well... Banished is on 50% discount throughout the promo so if it isn't the freebie it will most certainly be at a higher discount. :) If I had to hazard a guess I'd say 75% off or $4.99 but I"d be hoping for 80-85% off in lieu of free personally in order to hit my cheapwad trigger. :)
Oh boy. Missed the Omerta Freebie and now I am trying to stay awake to not miss the next one. Got Torchlight and wanted to go to bed (because it is 2:00 AM and I have to get up at 6:00 AM). Now Assassin's Creed is listed and I have to wait another 30 minutes to buy it. You're killing me here ;) After getting this game I WILL go to bed.

Damn, I actually just realized they were giving away free games, despite watching the sale pretty much every day :S

I got Torchlight 1, which is really nice to have on GoG, despite owning it on 2 different platforms already. Did I miss anything else ?

Yep. Omerta and Still Life 2. A few days ago there was also Magrunner for free.

Oh seriously :(

I shouldn't have slept. Sleeping is so overrated anyway.

Artoemius: Why did they have to use only facebook and twitter for the contests? Why not duplicate everything on the main page? I missed all of them although I love contests even more than free games. Well, maybe not exactly more, but still.. :)
They are trying to gain a following on their various forms of social media because those statistics matter to game publishers when they are considering releasing games on different platforms such as GOG. The more likes/followers they have on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, YouTube following what they're doing, the more visible this is to game publishers and ultimately helps them bring more video games to GOG.com.

As such, they are providing freebie games as a promotion to everyone, and promoting it via social media to get people to follow them there. It's a pretty fair deal to have an opportunity for free games to everyone, and to do so as a method of publicity to gain followers and try to gain the confidence of game publishers as a result.

Promoting it on their own website would not have the effect they are looking for in growing their publicly visible social media following.

Don't take my word for it though: http://gogcom.tumblr.com/post/82697119632/help-us-grow
