txnca: They shouldn't bitch about it. After all, it has been on sale at half price, IF you wanted to wait for it to go on a flash sale then it is because you decided to wait, if you were too impatient to wait then too bad! Read my previous post! I ALMOST bought the game myself but stopped myself hoping that it would end up on the flash sales! If I had bought it at the half price, I would kick myself for NOT waiting, not get mad at GOG for waiting until the last minute to put it into a flash sale! Live with your decisions!
;-p
I'm not saying that they should complain, but we both know that some will anyway - as IAmSinistar said, it's inevitable. ;-)
I took the plunge and purchased The Japanese Incentive DLC. Heck at the rate I play the game I buy from GOG they'll probably have the 2.0 pacth out! :)

+100

I never understand the negative energy such people feel when that happens. If you have made your mind up to spend money on something and actually done it, then you have already calculated that the value of that item is greater than the value of the money you're parting with and you're happy with the exchange. If not, then one shouldn't part with the money in the first place. Things *ALWAYS* show up cheaper at some point in time whether it is an hour/day/week/month/year/whatever later, or at some other store or whatnot. Make a decision to buy or not to and then be happy about it either way. Either that or one can choose (and it is a choice) to live in fear and anxiety and have angerous rage throughout life with entitlement mentality and blame "the man" as being unjust or "ripping off" or whatever.

That Louic CK video I posted a couple of times lately sums it all up very nicely and with a great sense of humour to boot:

Everything is amazing, nobody is happy

It's all good humour but it's also very true too. :) I've bought things and then later on found it cheaper in an hour/day/whatever, or it has went on sale at the same store shortly after. Sometimes just by calling/submitting a support request/etc. one can get a refund of the difference or whatever, other times it's just life. Either way I just stay happy with the good deal that I *DID* get when I bought it and felt it was a good deal at that point in time, and knowing that life is uncertain and things always can end up cheaper shortly after. I just accept it and move on and be happy about what I do get. :)

Yeah I know, but if they start I'm going to give em a crying towel and tell them to go tell someone who cares! ;-)

skeletonbow: Here's a screenshot of my Firefox configuration layout also... :)
avatar
txnca: Really?
I selected the screenshot and it showed up as being selected but did not show up after I posted it. I tried again and it wont show up either. I tried from another browser, same thing. It's 1.3MB jpg, perhaps that is too big or something. I've posted screnshots before though. Maybe the site is wonky due to being hammered. ;/

I'll try again later perhaps.

It shouldn't be a size problem. It says 2MB max size so I am with you on the site being hammered right now.

I checked the image out and it was a multihead screenshot (oops). That might possibly make their software barf. I went singlehead and am trying again with an attachment to this message now. If it doesn't show up then GOG is being wonky with attachments today. :)

RWarehall: I think Pidgeot's game tracker may be broken with the freebie. Stopped updating right ahead of it...

IAmSinistar: Yep, my belief as well. Probably wasn't coded to handle the different format of these free items. Can't blame him for that, this is the first one to show up like this.
Yes, very true.

I am working on fixing it; there may be a few extra entries until I'm done.

Much ta birdy! I'm filling the gaps as I can in the meantime.

It's fixed now, and fortunately I caught it at just the right time to ensure nothing was missing (except Corsairs appearing twice with the same timer; that one I had to add manually).

In case anyone is curious, the script barfed because there was no discount percentage. Now it just assumes a missing percentage means 100%.

Pidgeot: Should be fixed now, and all the still-current entries are added. Working on getting anything missed in there as well.

Thanks as always! I've updated the postings with the complete info now.

I'm pretty sure that GOG is one to both listen and care, particular the reasoning part. ;-)

That is fine, if they want to talk to GOG let them, but as for me listening to them gripe about something that is THEIR OWN FAULT, then they have another thing coming. That was all I meant by my statement. I am surprised that you missed that! ;-)

I didn't, just linking that part to the "be mad at GOG" one. ;-)

Anyone else noticed that the "FREE" button got white? I wonder if GOG changed it as the freebie entered its last 30' or if they read all the "I can't find it on the front page" posts and decided to make it stand out more.
