Uhm, trying to find the correct english words to explain my doubt so bear with me, should i buy the games that i want until the 19th or is the Winter Sale going to continue after this "solstice festivmas" event? Because i'm always hopping to find the games that i have on my wishlist on the daily surprise on better yet, some kind of ww2 community deal (hey, it could happen if doesn't go vs something big).
Yes, Solstice Festivmas is a one day sale within the overall Winter Sale. Solstice Festivmas features a repetition of the bundles offered to date in the Winter Sale, as well as a different interface than we have seen in the Winter Sale so far. The Winter Sale will continue in some form until December 29th.

Definitely, that's what I'm doing overall. However, if there's any bundles you want, probably best to get those today, since they very likely won't be repeated.

Looking at the recommended and community deals, what I see is that thus far games that are in both types of deals have appeared in the community bundles first. For example:

Theme Hospital - community bundle on 12/13, recommended deal today (and probably later when it's solo)
Carmageddon 1 and 2 - community bundle on 12/14, recommended deal today (and probably later when it's solo)
Icewind Dale 1 and 2 - community bundle on 12/15, recommended deal on 12/17

So, what I'm guessing is that GOG has some of the games in "complete the bundle" packs later so that people don't buy games in recommended deals then see them a little cheaper in community deals. For example, if someone wanted Theme Hospital but didn't want to buy the Bullfrog pack, they have a chance to get it 66% off individually. Better than 50%, not as good as completing the bundle at 75%.

I'm not saying that a game from every bundle will appear in a recommended deal, but for the ones that have appeared in both this seems to be the pattern (community bundle first, then recommended deal later).

My prediction would be that if any game from an upcoming recommended daily deal we've seen today is going to be in a community bundle, we'll see it in a bundle first before it shows up again as a recommended deal.

I guess we'll see what happens after today!

I think the new gift it gives you with you being able to preview it is better. Now to wait for some good deals to come up on games I don't already own.

Got Space Empires IV and Sid Meyer's Colonization. I'm not a great fan of the latter, but for this little money I don't mind to add it to my GOG collection. Not sure what to expect from the former, though...

hey guys, to clarify, my last comment was in reference as to what happened last Xmas... just point it out.of course they will have new deals... its a given for rest of deal.hopefully there's a small insomnia addictive feel about it.bring it on hehe

It refers to retail version of MM6 (Limited Edition) that was released in 1998. It also contained six games and most importantly - clue books. And since GOG version also has them they named it like that :)

Hmmm... I was one of those that bought the Limited Edition when it came out, and I do not recall any clue books being available outside the strategy guide for VI.

I thought the Limited Edition was just a more-expensive version that included all 5 prior games in addition to VI (whereas the regular edition was just VI).

A fore-runner to the "Collector's Editions" we see today.

OK, I must admit I'm not that sure as I was before but AFAIR different "special editions" of Might and Magic games were significantly different for US and Europe even though they did share the same name. Perhaps that's the reson? Or perhaps I'm totally wrong here :D

As an owner of virtually every M&M item ever produced in the US (though international editions are a different story), I can confirm that this is correct. In addition, the Limited Edition came with CDs with holographic labels and a very nice cloth map of Enroth. Years later, a knock-off product was produced with cheaper materials, no cloth map or holographic labels, and black-and-white photocopied documents, and was dubbed the Special Edition. To be completely accurate, since this GOG edition is obviously not "limited" in any way, it should be called the Special Edition.

Ehh this was a decent sale. Got Fallout tactics for free, Bought Lands of Lore 1+2, Wasteland 1, Stonekeep, Might & Magic 7-9 and Thunderscape on the cheap.

Not as awesome as the insomnia sale but whatever.
