nijuu: MM VII & VIII soundtrack is mp3 320 kbps. No idea about 1-6 (not installed)

DubConqueror: Might & Magic pack 1-6 contains:
the soundtrack of MM IV in 128kpbs mp3's,
the soundtrack of MM VI in 320kbps mp3's.
Thanks for the info. Just bought the bundle right before it disappeared and...it reappeared again along with other bundles!

I cannot save with these kinds of sales.

gandalf.nho: People complained about the mid-promo encore day last year and now they repeated?

How's is Space Colony HD and the new Rise of Triad?
Last year they showed ALL the bundles before the steam sale hit.. as a result there was zero surprise for the rest of the sale..........

undeadcow: I predict that this year we will see a day featuring all sales NOT voted in, instead of a repeated of sales that were run.

I wondered what will happen to all the deals that do not get voted in. Considering the amount of haggling and dealing with publishers/developers it seems doubtful that GOG would just excuse the discount altogether. A down voted sale day will allow GOG to satisfy vendors who have agreed to a sale and also appease those fans whose favorite game wasn't voted in. I doubt GOG got the Settlers people to agree to a rare 75% off discount then will just shrug it off as unpopular and tell those developers the sale they agreed to was just a no go.

Also, another win would be that whiners wouldn't be able to complain there are just repeats (because technically the sales would all be new).
You make some very good points here. There were a couple vote-for promos where I wanted at least one or more games from one of the packs but it ended up that the other batch of games was more popular on the vote and I happened to already own all of the games that ended up winning the vote. :) So if the game collections end up showing up on sale that previously lost the voting, I'll definitely be glad to pick up the ones that lost out the first time around for sure.

Doesn't the sale run until December 29? I doubt these are all the bundle offers GOG will have available.

GoblinFX: I'll put up my two cents on the pick the type of game I want on sale. Just show me all three. Ignore the fact that I don't care for gambling in the first place. I'm not here to gamble. I'm here to buy games. If GOG just shows me three games on sale, it's much more likely I'll buy one in the first place.

As for those who are complaining about the others who want the re-roll on the vote, it's totally necessary if they keep the promo the way it its. Even though I don't care for the set up, I'm still picking in case I can find a game I want. Today, my pick was a game I already own, and I'm not one with the re-roll option yet which means no sale for me today. Let me put it in totally mercenary terms. GOG is here to make money. I'm here to buy stuff. If the item on sale is what I already own, no purchase, and we both lose.

GOG, don't stop trying new things. I love you guys, and you're much more creative than the other game sites. It's just like all of us who like creativity, sometimes it doesn't work.
While I like the fact GOG experiments with fresh ideas for promos as that keeps it always a little interesting, some of them are suboptimal in the end for at least some subset of customers, and this is an example of that for sure. Fortunately though, GOG appears to be paying attention and listening to customer feedback because I notice today that I can visibly see all 3 of the mystery promos up front and center without having to click on anything first, and I can just decide outright if any of the 3 promos appeal to me. Every day of the promo season so far the game that came up was one I owned, or one I wasn't interested in (mostly all owned games though) and so I wished that I could have seen the other two and had an option just like you express. Today they made it so! Awesome. Unfortunately, two of the 3 games I own already and the third one I'm not interested in but it's a great improvement nonetheless! LOL I hope it continues every day to the end of the sale season though as that gives many more options to actually buy something.

Also, even though I own a lot of the great deals they're putting on, I'm very happy to see some of them repeating a few times like the D&D games as I've told some people about it who missed out and now have another opportunity to grab it. They'd be crazy to not run D&D at least 2-3 times during any blowout sale promos now I think as they appear to sell out batshit crazy every single time even if they were just on sale a day or so beforehand. People can't get enough of D&D! :)

Anyhow, your comments are very well worded and in combination with mine and others I think we managed to convince GOG to modify the sale in such a way that they'll make more money and we'll all collectively get more games. Win. :)
My three surprise boxes are all open : / Anyone else have that, I haven't clicked on them and they are all uncovered. Weird.

Thief 3/ Rise of the Triad/ Ring Runner

Edit: Ring Runner looks cool for my little nephew, we shall take that offer then.

gandalf.nho: People complained about the mid-promo encore day last year and now they repeated?
I thought it was awesome for several reasons. It wasn't preannounced so nobody had any idea it was going to happen, and if they just continued as they were, then that day would have just seen one single promo likely as most other days were and people would have had a chance only to buy games from that one promo. Instead however, they ran all the promos at once on that one day which included any single-promo they would have ran on that day - thus giving people a lot more options to choose from all at once. The other benefit is that people who just wanted to buy everything all at once instead of tracking deals every single day one day after another could have the opportunity to buy everything all at once and just "be done" with it.

So while people may not have liked it for some reason, from a purely logical and rational perspective there is was nothing taken away from anyone and no /rational/ reason to dislike it except perhaps if one has difficulty exerting self control when lots of things are on sale and ends up spending money they don't really have.

I also like the fact that they did this as well as the final day repeat promo as well as it gave everyone at last 3 one day opportunities at every game that went on sale throughout the holidays. Some people complained about that too, but realistically if the options were "sale ends a day early" or "one day extra at the end with everything on sale for an additional encore" - it is adding an opportunity to save money for everyone and not taking anything away so it is a good thing.

I'll probably have bought everything I wanted by the end of the sale, but I hope they do a final encore repeat again this year too so that people who missed out get another chance. Sometimes word of mouth of a one day sale takes several days to get around and people end up wishing they'd known about it sooner. Repeats allow them another chance and cause no harm to anyone else really. :)

There is a lot of "me me me!" out there though, but I guess that's to be expected. :)

Yep, that's what GOG did. And a good idea that is, if I might add.
The new way to do the surprises is great. Thanks for the change and please keep this idea for future sales.

Now to think over Volgarr and Hammerwatch.

Edit: Shadow Warrior 2013 for $9.99.... yeah my claim of being done a few days ago might have been wrong.

It's a much better idea doing that! Nobody likes disappointing surprise. This is way better. And it's good to be able to grab the previous days' deals and the future deals. A good sale plan that will make many happy I think. :D

gandalf.nho: How's is Space Colony HD
It's a pleasant game but with number of issues:
- UI is just bad. Building is a nuisance because you never know how much free space you have - you may think it should be enough but then it may turn out that one tile has a little crack and you can't build there. And since it was somewhere in the middle of your "free space" you cannot move the building just a bit.
- Your colonists' skills list is just terrible. It's represented by small icons without any captions whatsoever. Some of them and obvious - O2 must mean skills in maintaining the oxygen generator, right? But some of them are so obscure that I still don't know what they are supposed to represent and why they are associated with a specific skill.
- (highly subjective) After just a few missions the best part of the game (IMHO) simply becomes irrelevant. What I loved most was taking care of colonists' needs, encouraging them to become friends with each other and creating a nice work-shift plan for my colony so that it runs smoothly. After a few missions you get so many colonists that 1) It's impossible to take care of that anymore (it would be too much to do) 2) It doesn't matter anymore because everybody is easily replaceable so why should you care about the mood of one individual being? Just make sure that he base is operating and you are fine. Don't get me wrong - the game is NOT about babysitting your colonists, it's NOT SIMS in space, you still have to expand your base, gather resources, trade them, make facilities for space tourists and all that stuff. But in the beginning you have to take care that your colonists are complementary - one of them work here, the other there and it keeps things running. And it's not easy with a few individualists. Later on you have a lot off drones to order around. You don't care about their personalities, you just need to feed them, provide some sort of entertainment, pay them and that's more less all. And it's a shame indeed.

Nevertheless the game is quite good and entertaining. For that price I can definitely recommend it
Yep, really like the way they've done the 3 surprises today AND very happy they repeated the Ultima Underground sale as I missed it on the first day it appeared. Will be buying it now :)
So, is there a way to find out, whether a game is in a bundle offer from the game's page?
This isn't necessarily a repeat of the middle promotion deal from prior sales (in which EVERY deal for the entire sale was offered). In this Winter Sale I THINK we still have undisclosed "Community Deals" (unless those abruptly end mid-promo).

Also, the daily "surprise" deals keep things a bit fresh.

It is strange there's no option to vote for tomorrow's "Community Deal."
