botan9386: A surprising amount of the (western) population doesn't even believe in racism against white (or white-looking) people, or sexism against men. It's why developers like that are so outspoken, they see nothing wrong.

It creates an interesting dilemma though, as a black male am I privileged because I'm male or a minority because I'm black? Did I get the job over the white woman because she's female, or did I overcome a disadvantage because she's white. It's so dumb...
Well in terms of affirmative action, white women were the main beneficiaries so gender seems to play a bigger role than race. Honestly ironic since AA was established to benefit minorities based on race.

botan9386: I was quite disappointed to hear that CDPR hired a guy whose publicly stated his dislike for gamers to be their lore designer for Witcher IV, as well as a couple of other interesting decisions. But like we're saying, maybe CDPR agrees with those opinions, hence the warm welcome.
Yeah and honestly it seems a good number of witcher fans are concerned with the new "lore master" for Witcher 4. Even on reddit, the people fighting against the criticism of ugly Ciri do express concern when hearing what the lore master has to say. Former writer for Insomniac and heavy defender for Sweet Baby Inc also joined CDPR which does raise some concerns about the future quality of the writing imo. She apparently worked on Insomniac's Spiderman 2 and Wolverine and although Wolverine is not out yet so we cant judge, its pretty universal among the fanbase that Spiderman 2's story/writing is undoubtably the worst of the 3 entries so far.
Witcher 4 disappointment threads make me disappointed with my fellow humans.
