With the sequel, "Slaps and Beans 2" currently being crowdfunded, it'd be as good a time as any to reach out to Trinity Team/Buddy Productions and finally get the first one on here.

Q: Will Slaps and Beans 2 be published on GoG?
A: Publication on other platforms is not currently planned, though not ruled out.

Ugh, the German voice actors don't even remotely have the gusto of Danneberg and Hess. They sound depressingly bland.

I'd also be curious how much money Terence Hill is making from these games, considering the duo's likeness is the main selling point.

Well, that does depreciate it considerably indeed. Would still pick up a DRM-free copy should it and the sequel be released here, though.

How hard can it be to put together a mod that replaces all the voice lines with quotes from the films, I wonder?

Check out the Kickstarter link you posted, there are brief clips of the various localisations (including German).

The voices themselves aren't too shabby (I expected worse) but it's severely lacking in the "Schnodderdeutsch" department. Rainer Brandt is still alive and kicking, so it seems odd to not get him on board and have him write at least some of the dialogue/lines.

Look, I'm glad this game was made and all, but this feels like a bizarre flex, since those two aren't Ed Wood or Cameron Mitchell.

Maybe it was a European thing then, but I saw lots of Terence Hill and Bud Spencer movies in my childhood. Not sure if they were shown on TV here occasionally, and/or on rental VHS video. It was back when violence was funny, not all the serious.

They were like Laurel and Hardy, with fists.

Not sure if they were that well-known in US then, even though all their movies I recall seeing were dubbed in English, not the (original?) Italian. A bit like all the Bruce Lee movies I saw.

Or it could also be a generation thing, as I saw them many many decades ago, and haven't seen them since... I wouldn't be surprised if younger people haven't seen (much of) their movies.

They're definitely bigger in Europe. They're not unknown in the U.S. but more like cult figures, especially to people who like spaghetti westerns.

Yeah, I know. And that's a shame. Americans love western movies (or used to?) and yet, most of them don't know My Name is Nobody! (granted only Terence Hill plays in the movie).
