Luned: My day has already involved making an invoice. Usually it's boring, but this time part of the invoice reads:

"...for removal of the first 10 graves.... A discount has been applied for volume."

I had to chuckle. That's definitely something I never expected to be typing about an IRL event.
Don't leave us hanging! What are you doing? :P

KiNgBrAdLeY7: even needs special food for sterilized cats
That is nonsense, not sure what makes you think that?

A desexed animal doesn't have any special nutritional requirements.

Jake is intact and I would never get him castrated, but to say they need special food is rubbish.

Then why is there a different category of dry food, specifically for sterilized cats? I somehow seriously doubt it is only for the looks, the different price and the overall variety. Especially since this type of food is specially designed for an animal's need (baby-adult-sterilized) and are the product of research and careful examination.

Besides, hormones activity is naturally altered (after sterilization) and this brings changes, to at least the behavior of the animal. Even metabolism is said to be affected, that is why most sterilized cats, males especially, become chubby...

Hormones are "chemicals". They affect the body, the behavior and micromanage (or otherwise have an impact on) a plethora of things, from normal bodily functions to mood and temporary mental states. Disrupting their natural flow, isn't exactly the most wise thing, i think (i might be mistaken and we are talking about an animal, besides). I am always pro nature, i believe in her always. She is wise beyond questioning or trying in vain to understand her from our limited (and biased) point of view. That is why my cat stays active.

Because of marketing and to sell things, a desexed animal has no specific nutritional requirements.

Dog food companies are the worst with their "specially formulated for labradors" and so on, it's all nonsense.

Check the ingredients and it's all basically the same (they do similar with some human products also).

And if these companies were so concerned about nutrition, they'd stop selling pet food with grain-based fillers.

Dogs and cats are carnivores, they don't need a lot of carbs and grains cause allergies and skin issues.

Don't know about cats, not a kitty person, but with dogs there is absolutely no evidence that castrating males stops them from roaming, fighting or controls their behaviour.

Plenty of castrated males who will still scale fences to mate or to fight with other dogs.

Jake is intact and doesn't fight unless challenged, yet he was attacked by two male dogs, both castrated.

And castrated dogs have a higher incidence of prostate and bladder issues.
I just tried out the Red Alert 3 demo. With my gaming rig in pieces I didn't think I should even bother trying to run it on my laptop. There's just no way it would be playable.
Gladly I was mistaken :) The game engine is clearly extremely well put together, and there are lots of graphics options to cater to even to very weak systems.

Impossible! Everyone knows you can't play anything more than casual games on a laptop. ; )

Glad you got it going. How good is the game, at least as far as the demo takes you?

Did you want a take on RA 3 for a the laptop or for the game as a whole, because I just got it myself.

Was making conversation, mostly. But sure, is it any good? Laptop or not.

It's basically a beefed up version of #2 which is all good. :D

Hah! The problem is that the worst time sinks imaginable have some of the mildest requirements: FTL, Cataclysm:dda, Nethack, Dwarf Fortress. Well ok, DF is bit on the taxing side but still :P

You know what was the first thing that attacked my base? An armoured soviet bear. Judging by the demo this is an as fun and even more over the top game than RA2. The voluptuous lady officers, the overacting generals, the cheesy dialogue, the colorful destruction. It's all here :) Probably the end of an era sadly :(
The Blues season sweep of The Sharks.

Not that it's going in matter in the playoffs. As is usual they are probably going to kick our asses there. :P
