Totally agree with that. Like I said I don't think it was a bad movie I just think it paled next to a lot of the other stuff that
Langella, Depp, and Polanski have done. Specifically Polaski (since you mentioned those satanic movies of the 70's) with Rosemary's Baby which was the IMO the greatest of those movies EVER. Perhaps Polanski did himself in with that one, making it so good that everything else seems to fall short of that.
