tfishell: Will the GOG staff be like "great job everybody, we got all the good old games that ever existed, we can shut down now", then forget to let everyone download their games beforehand? Will everyone lose interest and go back to Steam, thus sending GOG into bankruptcy? Wha happen?
First, could you define "good", and the define "old"?

rgnrk: They'll finally start releasing the "huge" pile of rejected games :P
Yup, they'll start grabbing the Garbage Old Games as well.
Why do you think games are being removed every now and then from the store? It's just the way that GOG has to guarantee a future supply of good-old-games releases, it's all planned by the blue guys.

Everybody will be crying in their sleep, of course.
This isn't possible. Some of the classic good old games that probably will NEVER see GOG's light, are:

Diablo 1 + Hellfire
Starcraft 1
Diablo 2 + LOD
Command and Conquer series
Grand theft auto 1 + 2

Especially the last item i listed, has been ceased being distributed AND sold, at least on pc, from their bloody copyrights holder. DAMN!
Did you sniff glue again...?

anothername: gog getting all requires the time to stop progressing. Or games with PC compatibility stopped being developed for some reason.
Actually the latter possibility is somewhat likely, as it has been said to happen at some point. Of course, such a discussion already existed in the 90s, so it may take a while before it really happens.

But such a thing happening might really be a goldmine for GOG. Getting rid of PCs wouldn't make people forget all those games, so porting them to new platforms (whatever those might be), can actually be where the future lies.

To some extent that already happens, as old games are released for Linux and such (even if many of them simply pack the game files with some emulator, which anyone owning the old games could do).
They will never run out of old games. 5 years from now Fallout 4 will be old for example. So they can release that. And the cycle would never end.

According to some PC Gaming was already dead and forgotten by october 2004 but thankfully ressurected in november 2004. :P

Terpor: Like the crappy Mega Man, Castlevania and early Street Fighter PC ports :)
oh my. i remember picking the street fighter ports and the mega man ports at a mall as a bundle, back in like 1994. i tried playing them with a gravis game pad and they were TERRIBLE! i would totally buy them here tho.
GOG will concentrate on getting Queen: the eYe

Diablo, C&C and GTA are the hardest and trickiest games to get here, they are maximum difficulty to negotiate for, i gather, since their current owners have their own distribution networks, or prefer someone other's almost exclusively. I bet NOLF would be much easier to get here than those above.
