These days I play The Incredible Adventures Of Van Helsing - Final Cut and a bit of Tropico 5.
I will give Vikings - Wolves Of Midgard and Victor Vran another chance.

I have the game but haven't played it yet. How it is so far?
.
I'm at that age that I barely play games, just buy them :V

Now seriously, I'm playing Dragon's Dogma, I recived as a gift and is amazing!!!! Has an incredible good and fun combat system, great boss fights and the story is very original but a little bit under develop. Is 4.5 stars for me, but I will give it 5 because I can't rate with .5.
I'm playing Shadow Man.

I'm near the end and it has been an enjoyable experience. At first it took some time to get used to the controls, but as I played more it got better.

Didn't know the game was kind of a metroidvania, so that was a surprise. However, sometimes is hard for me to know where to go next. I think this is due to being spoiled by newer games, where everything is spoon-feed to us.

The combat is kind dull and the AI of the enemies can be easily exploited, so I guess this is one of the weak features of the game

I'm really enjoying the atmosphere and the story is interesting. It has a similar vibe to Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, imo. Exploring this world has been great, so I recommend this game for fans of action/adventure games.

Ended: Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, The Glass Staircase and SHING!

DBX2 was great.
The Glass Staircase was interesting but the controls too very long for me to get use to.
SHING! is staying on my HDs because everyone in the house loves it.

* SWAT 4

My wife and I giving this game a revisit this weekend. I had a good time playing it years ago.

* Nuclear Throne

I had it for a while in my library, but gave it another run when I saw it discounted again here in the store. Let's just say that I have pumped up over a hundred hours in the last couple of days. It's a clunky game, but, man, the gameplay is a blast. One of the best ARPGs ever, and one of the best PC games overall.
I'm playing Lords of Xulima. 34 hours played according to the game save. I like this game. Combat is really amazing, although it took me a while to really get the hang of it. Story is nice though there not much of it. No "C&C" so to speak. The exploration is hit and miss, with some areas being a bit more frustrating than fun. Still, very positive overall.

I'm glad to hear that. Now I have a little extra incentive to install the game. However, I still have Grim Dawn (w/ DLCs) and Victor Vran to complete. Both currently on pause.

Some reason I just never seem to finish my games before starting a new one lol. I have so many games on pause...sigh.

I enjoyed the game as well, but decided to take a break from it. So currently on pause.

But the combat setup is pretty interesting. Though like you said, it does takes some getting used to when it comes to positioning chars and knowing what skills/spells work vs what enemies.

The story was pretty nice, did have a grand feel to it. The exploration had it's exciting moments, especially when first going into caves, towers, etc., but the overland map was not as exciting.

I agree that overall it was a positive experience, though I did feel at times I had to min/max for some reason. Maybe it was just me in general. :)

When it comes to pauses and resumes regarding the game, I do similar stuff. I get bored with a game, and start another one. Depending on the length I might finish it, or not, but if I like it I come back to play it. I did play Grim Dawn as well, over 700 hours. I didn't like Victor Vran when I tried it couple of years ago, but I gave it another try few days ago. I will be more patient with it, as it is very different regarding the leveling when compared with other ARPGs like Titan Quest, Torchlights, etc. That difference to me was repulsive at first.
I'm still playing Pillars of Eternity... but I haven't played it (yet) this year, because of the move (to a new apartment - a lot of work and administration)
I did a shoddy job assembling my computer desk... and - no surprise - it fell apart when they (tried to) move it. Ah well, I'm glad we had a spare table. I carried the desktop computer cases on foot to the new place. The moving company mostly did a good job - but I just don't trust them with this...
(I know, this is all a bit off topic. I'm looking forward to continuing PoE - I love its general Baldur's Gate vibe!)

I tried that game, but found that level ups were very stressful, and ended up quitting because of that reason.

It's the game that really cemented the notion that skill point systems are inherently flawed.

I don't even know how many hours I put into Grim Dawn. So many class combinations makes for a lot of replay. I doubt I'll ever uninstall the game. I even have Titan Quest IT (now AE) still installed lol.

I myself get stuck in a certain mindset when it comes to games escpecially RPGs, be it real time, turn based or adventure style and find new types sometimes off putting.

I had similar problem with the game Zenith at first too. Felt boxed in by the controls and the locked in camera mode. After playing it a bit though I realized the game is more about the humor rather than the battles, at least from my perspective. At that point I started to enjoy it more.

I guess it does take some patience to try new gameplay styles. Some games don't give us the freedom to explore that we expected from past games, but they do have their own charm once you invest a little time (or a lot in some cases).

There are of course games that no amount of time will change your mind lol. I can't recall one off hand at the moment though.

Ah PoE, I still have it installed but haven't gone past the first town. barely explored it. I really want to start playing it again, but as soon as I think about the time I need to invest in such a lengthy game, I deflate lol. Baldur's Gate series is the reason I picked it up also. In-game it has the same feel.

Haha yea, when it came to moving my pc setup, no one but me handles it. After working for a moving company in the distant past, I know there a few not so respectful people in the business when it comes to peoples property. Most are good people, but unfortunately when accidents happen even they rarely "tell" you about it as long as the moving box appears undamaged lol.

The time limiting elements (such as food) are probably one of the main things that had me put the game on pause. The skill system...could have used a few tweaks and maybe been a bit more generous.

I may have to tweak it a bit to restart it again. I hate to spend money on a game and not play it through, not unless I truly abhor the game.
