Radiance1979: damn you ! ;) just yesterday i was checking out nvi's page thinking " heck, 500 something euro's ain't that much for that foundation model! the rog strix one will set you back like 7 something "
though i'm gld of course for your .. sake :-p
RTX 5000 series will be my que point .... and intel chips..... because of some post on the forum i went down checking the good 'ol i7 7700k vs newer chips such as the 10600k and the 10700k... according to user benchmark the 106 is just 1 percent ahead ... and the 107 about 4 % .. that is nothing to write home off!
its metacritic rating is 92% which seems more then good enough. what rating are you looking at?
MysterD: I ordered the PC around Black Friday week. Showed-up last week. CyberPower PC built it, according to my selections for parts.
It was $100 off on that day for RTX 3070's card, if you configured out in there. Pretty much, every part had a discount on it...except the PSU. Saved at least $500 on this; and this was the easiest way to get a RTX 3070. I needed a new desktop anyways, as my old desktop was old (i7 950; 16 GB RAM; GTX 970; W10 x64) and I want to take the strain off the GTX 1060 6GB laptop.
It was around $1635 after everything.
So, yeah - this PC at 1080p is smoking everything at maxed-out settings.
RAGE 2 = 120-200fps.
Watch Dogs 2 = 60-100fps.
Shadow of the TR = 60-100fps.
Witcher 3 = 100-150fps.
Fallout 4 = crashes too much at over 60fps. Over 100fps maxed-out, but crashes. 60fps lock saves it.
I need to benchmark World War Z, Control: Ultimate, and Battlefield 5 at this PC with RTX On and/or DLSS On.
And I also need to set-up my old Sony 4K monitor with 60fps up just to see how it does at 1440p and 4K.
that is an upgrade! 4k probably will make you cry a bit, unless you don't have to much trouble with loud spinnin fans
but yea at least you can play control in a decent way on 4k with dlss, on my 2k screen it does work wonders if you select 1700 x ..... something , and still with decent loads.... If your sony 4k has a displayport cabel going on that might also be very worthwile
i guess it will work its self out either way :-p
enjoy
