vicklemos: Wow good for ya! How are these games? Got interested!
And playing games on browsers, well, that's something I don't actually do a lot but I admire those who have the patience to do so, since it's all "ad-ish" :P
The playing window isn't big (although you can put it full screen, or cinematic mode, but that's hardly the point of these low-res games), so you have stuff around, but generally it's less ads than interfaces from the website itself (comments, links to other games, etc).

There's two types of browser-based games. Those that have their own dedicated website ("urban dead", "cthulu nation", "shartak", "the last door", etc), and those who are just collections of tiny random flash-based games on websites that sort them out. When it's decent websites (I only use stuff like Kongregate or Armour Games, both tend to share their game libraries nowadays, anyway) then you don't really have to deal with ads. Or maybe I just have good adblockers ?

And you can find nice basic games of all sort of quality and style, professional or amateur (which doesn't say much n quality in fact). Take for instance "Kingdom Rush", which is being sold on GOG. It was an Armour Games/Kongregate game, and you can still play it on these websites. Along with other amusing stuff like the "Burrito Bison" series, the "" series (lots of lovely games or simili-games by Nitrome), the "[url=http://www.kongregate.com/games/TogeProductions/infectonator-2]Infectionator" series, and a lot of "Creeper World" online levels. Plus joke-like games like "You only live once".

It's really good light jump-in jump-out fun, if you want windowed games that (often) don't require lots of concentration or involvement. I use most of these games as replacements for Minesweeper-like windows office games...

As for these two chtulhu-based card games, I like them a lot. They are basic and amateurishly made, but still, neat. Not flawless (both games have complementary qualities/flaws), but sufficiently nice to hook me.

Amazing answer, dear Telika. Thanks a ton for these tips and you've helped break through my prejudice against web- based games! ;)
F.E.A.R 1

Fun so far

When the game starts up and the Warner Bros Symbol spins around, it plays the music from system shock 2 [sounds like it to me]

Dead Space (PC)
How on earth did I miss this first time around???
Pleasantly surprised (sic) with this game.
UPDATE

Finished my playthrough in NWN2 OC (great final banch of battles) and started MotB. Pretty interesting followthrough story until now. Let's see how it goes on.

Bone: The Great Cow Race.
Risen 1

This is Gothic, anyway, these games make me laugh so much, love the voice acting of the NPC's, it's like being down the pub on a friday night haha 'someone piss in your ear, 'f*ck off'

The protagonist makes me laugh too, his voice is err how can I say!, to me he sounds like william hague ^^

I'm trying to be as neutral as possible, I took a quest for a hunter in the bandit camp, because he was fedup of cutting wood, and wanted to go a hunting again, so I attacked the big bully, broogar [spelling!] and this fooker started to attack me as well. I made a run for it, I'm now in Harbour town.

Love these games
Dying Light.

I loved Dead Island but I am having a complete hate-fest with this one. It was OK when you died in DI, you lost something like 10% of your cash, but here you lose XP which is frigging annoying, because it is so easy to get killed and some really frustrating missions where just jumping from point A-B can get you killed.
I started training pokemon again, after 15 whole years, in generation 1 and 2 emulated... Boy, emulation sure did progress, now i can trade with myself and even use the emulated transfer pack, linking GB to N64!

Currently Warthunder, Dragon Ball Xenoverse and Dark Fall 3.
Silent Storm

Picked it up recently when it was discounted. At first I dismissed it because of the 3d look and the movable camera perspective which made me miss a few corners constantly. It felt clumsy and cumbersome to me, but now I have finally gotten used to it.
Initially I also compared it to Jagged Alliance 2, one of my all-time favorite games, and the direct comparison will usually go in favor of the much more complex and more rounded off Jagged Alliance 2, especially if the community mod 1.13 is active which improves the game two- or three-fold overall in my point of view.

Once I freed myself from that the game started coming into its own and now, with the download of a few mods correcting bugs and adding content, I am incredibly happy to have picked up this game and it will surely be one of those sweet time-sinks for me.
I'll be starting my second Salvation Prophecy playthrough in a bit (it's downloading now). I'm not sure which faction I'll be but I probably won't use the Salvation twice in a row.

Why should you look into Salvation Prophecy you ask? Well here's why: It's like Mount & Blade in space! Start off as a lowly grunt and work your way up the ladder while gaining new equipment and skills, conquer planets and space stations, defend your own planets and space stations, combat takes place in real time in large 20 vs 20 fights (both on ground and in space battles) and there is a large solar system to explore.

Well, I'm sold.

Looks like the system required to play it is more or less exactly what my laptop is, so I might have to wait for my next system to play it. But it's definitely on my list now.
