Right now I'm playing Chaser. I've never heard of this FPS game before I saw it on GOG.

Graphics-wise it's pretty good. But I still cannot believe how insanely large the levels are! They just keep going and going and going. They're bigger than Tribes levels! I remember a water-treatment-plant-level in Chaser that I constantly got lost in!

But the gameplay and the A.I. are pretty good. The guns in the game are accurate and nicely modeled as well.

I think this game would have been more popular if the difficulty wasn't ramped up so high. Plus if they had gotten rid of the make-you-physically-ill underwater levels, and the dumb mafia mission where if you enter a wrong door you instantly die, I bet the game would have sold a lot better back then. For those that love FPS games I still recommend it.

I've always wanted to give this one a try. But some back in the day reviews spoke about snipers spotting you from miles away - insta-death. True?

Yeah, there are some instances where you have to watch for snipers. But luckily you're usually equipped with either a sniper rifle or a gun with a scope. This game does take a lot of strategy, and you will be using the Quick Load button a lot. But I think it's worth it since you can tell the developers put a lot of time and effort this game to create this futuristic world. I was impressed at the physics of the game too. You hear bullets that ricochet and buzz around you and the weapons handle realistically.

What's also nice is that the game is very generous with ammo. I don't think I've ever come across a level that didn't have enough. This is the opposite of other FPS's like Sin where I constantly found myself without ammo.

I played some Saints Row: The Third earlier and eclipsed the fifty hour mark on my main character. I have no idea how much larger that number would be if it included times where I played but didn't save, tried other characters etc etc but it'd probably put me close to sixty hours total.

Yeah, I try to use the in-game transports and stuff, but occasionally, I break and use fast travel. This was especially true of the Imperial Legion missions. I imagine it is the same if you side with the Stormcloaks, but once you get near the end of the quest line, there is a ton of back-and-forth over pretty big distances. I was much more interested in seeing the conclusion of the war than running from General Tullius to Legate Rikke, and then to the mission she gave me, and then back to her, and then to the next mission she gave me, and then back to her, and then back to Tullius, just for that whole process to start over again. I love exploring and stuff, but I have to speed things up occasionally so I don't start to lose interest, as there is still a ton of content I want to get to.

On the topic of Chaser (because I don't know how to quote multiple people), I also thought it was a surprisingly good game. It's also pretty stinking long. The story is pretty interesting, even if the ending kind of just happens. I particularly liked the cutscenes. As far as animation and voice acting go, they felt a little low-budget, but the "directing," the use of the camera in particular, is just incredible. I don't know why, exactly, but it just is. I also though the environments were visually splendid. If I had any major complaint, it would be about the final third, or maybe fourth, of the game. So many things just felt wrong. The difficulty jumps incredibly high, and the story seemed to stumble. That alone wouldn't have been bad, but a weird twist was thrown in that just comes out of nowhere. But overall, I think it's a pretty good game.

Right now I'm playing both Desperados: Wanted dead or alive and Giants: Citizen Kabuto.
I have been enlightened by the former: now I know that I completely suck at RTS games! ;)
Well, I'll improve! My last (and first, actually) RTS game was Warcraft 3, and that wasn't hard at all, so... I definitley need more practice! :)
Btw, I love the game already, even if it does not love me!

Sounds like me with my current game - Company of Heroes. It's the first time I've played an RTS in quite a while.
I'm loving it, but I sure do suck at it. Slowly getting better though. Still haven't played an MP game. I'm too scared :P

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Clear Sky

Mark of the Ninja, I fricken love this game.

Still Age of Empires II, but last night I got Wizardry 8 and Talisman, so I'll be trying those out today.

Just started Trails in the Sky. Not far enough in to give any meaningful impressions, although I'm still struggling to wrap my head around the combat system. That might be because I've been under the weather lately, though :)

LoH: TitS is a pretty darn good JRPG. I mean, I didn't think it lived up to the hype surrounding the release, but I still really enjoyed it. Enough that I've been waiting for the second chapter ever since the PSP release years ago.

I hadn't checked GOG in a couple months, so I didn't realize this game had been released here, which is great news. I'll be sure to pick it up in the hopes that the sequel gets released here - or even better the Ys games!

Anyway, I was playing Bravely Default and enjoying it. Still haven't finished it - I'd restarted and played until I got to the same place I'd gotten to before then got distracted by the following game.

Been playing way too much of Onigiri, a F2P MMO with a very anime feel set in a mythical medieval Japan. It is way too grindy, especially the end of the current content. Other than that it's right up my alley and I haven't been able to put it down.

Last, a lightning storm fried my router the other day so while I had no internet I started playing .hack: Infection on my PS2 and Battle Realms from GOG. I've beaten Infection before, but never continued on to the rest of the quartet. Kinda funny that I couldn't play my MMO JRPG, so I start playing a simulated MMO JRPG. Good game nonetheless.

As for Battle Realms, I came across a Youtube video of it and thought it looked like a really solid RTS. Checked my GOG account, found that I already owned it, and immediately downloaded, installed, and started it up. However, I've only gotten through the tutorial as this was late at night and I fell asleep.

I have finished Rune last night (Rune Gold, that is). Went back to it today to replay the very last levels, as I enjoyed these more than all of the game that came before. Great visuals for a title of that era. Thanks to Coelocanth again for the opportunity, as I won this in one of her/his countless birthday-related giveaways.

I played a few hours of Fallout: New Vegas today, I doubt it'll even come close to becoming one of my favorite games (not that I would mind it proving me wrong) but it's certainly a lot more fun than Fallout 3 (was for me).
