A simple list of the privacy-related/social media disinterested wishes linked throughout this thread for those interested.
Privacy related:
Disable "view profile" function for customers who care for their privacy!
"GOG's new "profiles" cry out for another feature request: I do not want to have a visible profile and I even doubt that GOG has the right under current EU privacy and data protection laws to publish ANY customer information without the customer's consent!
I did NOT give my consent to have a public profile and I do not want to share any information about my profile or GOG activities with anyone. Therefore under EU privacy and data protection laws I request from GOG that they immediately allow myself - and any other customers who care for their privacy - to completely disable the "view profile" function in the forums."
Set all privacy-related options to most secure by default
"As required by the GDPR for customers from the EU, and as vastly appreciated by everyone else, make certain that all privacy-related options and settings have a default setting which exposes the least amount of information.
Privacy isn't just a right for your customers, it's also a feature you as a store can distinguish yourself by when done right."
Social Media related:
A setting to disable all "social" features (like Facebook)
"A simple setting in user profile which, when enabled, disables loading in the background of all that Facebook, Twitter, Google +1 crap. Don't use it, don't want it."
Remove Facebook login option
"The recently added Facebook log-in "feature" is not appreciated by a lot of your customers, escpecially at this time. Please remove the Facebook log-in feature, we just don't want FB here on GOG! Most of us are just good old gamers who do not care about the social media hype :-).
