It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

It's not update flags in general, but just certain games that seem to have the issue with missing notifications. I pretty reliably get at least one notification per week, usually, from among my 200+ games, and it's been ages since I found something in the update thread or elsewhere that I didn't get a blue dot for.

real.geizterfahr: Which were the two games that had a permanent update-notification (it just didn't go away). The Witcher (1 or 2)? And which one was the other?
Dragonsphere had a thing once upon a time where its notification kept turning itself back on shortly after having been cleared. I think it might have happened more than once, too, persisting for maybe a couple days or more at a time, perhaps weeks or months apart. Became a bit of a forum meme for quite a while, too, I think.
I didn't get a flag for the latest update of Sanitarium.
Aaaaaand they're broken ONCE AGAIN.
We have updates for:
Postal 2
House Party
Iris and the Giant
and who knows what else, 'cause the blue dots are not appearing again.

Please fix it, GOG, I don't want to have to recheck my entire library.
Blue dot hasn't worked for me in years. I have to check "What did just update?" everyday.

It's been working for me up until yesterday. I don't want to manually check, given the size of my library.

I recently started to look up new updates here: https://www.gogdb.org/changelog

You still have to know which game(s) you own, of course - but at least this way you find the updated versions relatively quickly (if you look there every day).
I am sure they will fix it.

But yes, very broken again.
I have noticed it too. Hopefully we'll get a fix soon.

Looks like it's been fixed now, thank you GOG!

I've got 13 updates now, including the missing "Postal 2", "House Party" and "Iris and the Giant".
Nevermind, see it was a necro.

Except for whatever reason I haven't got an update flag for TW3 since sometime around when they moved to the Complete Edition.

It was a "necro" for a valid reason lol. Why make a new thread when one exists already? It wasn't even a year old.

It looks like you are right. While I am receiving blue dots for most games now again, I haven't received one for Witcher 3 since the 4.00 release. Perhaps they just didn't retroactively re-publish the dot? In either case, I'll update it manually for now.

Also, I'm kinda glad this was broken, that means I have the "original" remaster release which had some "accidental" content ROFl. Backing that up separately for keeping now.

I was about to answer a question from 2022. That would have been a necro nobody wants.

About Witcher 3.
The new Variant got another internal ID as the old Witcher 3.
You (and I) bought the old one with the old ID. For our profiles the old ID is stored (even when we got the new Witcher 3).
The updates are connected to the new ID, so when the system compares IDs, there is no update for our Witcher 3 ID but for a Witcher 3 ID we don't have.
It is the same for some preorder versions, that are not at the store anymore or for some In Dev games.

Yes, you still got the updates, because Updates can be shipped out for several IDs as it seems..
Update Flag is not - for whatever reason.

Right now I use an own tag for all my games with this problem and check the exes of the installers against my downloaded files I stored in a folder all together.

Don't ask. This side is a technical nightmare.

This is not a necro.

It's someone who remembered that a thread existed for a problem they knew existed and reused that thread when the problem re-emerged.

It's called forum etiquette.
Well, it seems so be working again, so let's "necro" it next time it happens.
