Patch 2.01 for Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty is now live on GOG! It fixes the most common issues players have encountered and improves overall performance of the game, especially in Dogtown.

Besides the Phantom Liberty-specific fixes and adjustments, Patch 2.01 also covers quests & open world, overall gameplay, UI and achievements issues, miscellaneous, and of course many more things to make your experience better.

For the highlight of the most important fixes and improvements head over HERE, and to check out all the changes jump straight into the game!
Nice patch, and I already see the problems my friends had fixed here :)
"Vehicle radio volume has been adjusted so it's no longer too quiet compared to other sounds in the game. If you've turned down the volume of other sounds in order to better hear the radio, you may want to re-adjust the volume before you continue playing."
Good. That one was incredibly annoying.

"Players who pre-ordered Phantom Liberty but didn't get the Quadra Sport R-7 "Vigilante" will now receive it."
How does the game determine who pre-ordered and who didn't as far as offline installers are concerned? I still don't see a separate offline installer for this. Surely it's not two separate builds of the whole game?

Also there's still no blue dot (offline installer update notification) for the update. Please fix blue dots for your first party games.

The only pattern that I can see between games that do generate blue dots and games that do not, are that games that are actually sold on the store directly do generate the blue dot. Games that are only sold as bundles and not directly fail to generate a blue dot. Yes, the vanilla version of Cyberpunk 2077 is actually being sold as a single-item bundle. The game itself is not for sale.

Such naivete :P. I'd bet you lunch it will require you to log into Galaxy and check your purchase history.

Well it does not fall under "My Rewards" which is where all the other junk, including Twitch and Prime go.
I'll need to test this patch on an offline machine, that never had Galaxy or Cyberpunk. I'm starting to suspect they just enabled this for everyone, regardless of any pre-orders (Which would be fine by me).

Observations from an offline-installer user with patch 2.01. Before installing the patch I undid the workaround required for offline-installer users to launch the game on version 2.0.

(1) The game no longer needs the workaround to prevent crashes on startup.
(2) Language settings were changed to english. Weird, but quickly restored.
(3) Phantom Liberty is no longer recognized as installed, so existing savegames can't be loaded. There's no patcher for the expansion's files. Are we expected to download the entire expansion whenever they issue a patch?
(4) Closed game. Checked if I missed patch files for the expansion – no. Restarted the game. Skipped intro cutscene by pressing space. Pressing space to continue and enter the main menu, however, has no effect. Retried a couple of times. I can't access even the base game anymore.

Tja.

----

Edit: Removing GameServicesGOG.dll (as in the known workaround for 2.0) allows to enter the main menu again, but the game still won't recognize Phantom Liberty and therefore my savegames are lost.

I think I have the following options:
(A) Uninstall, reinstall with version 2.0 and use the known workaround. Avoid patching, eventually download the entire thing again when there's a stable version and I haven't lost interest in the game.
(B) Download the entire expansion again and hope that'll work. Not excited about this idea because downloading that amount of files takes quite a while and I don't think it's impossible to provide a patcher for the expansion and this whole annoyance is therefore unnessecarily caused by neglecting offline-installers.
(C) Consider a refund and possibly return when there's a stable game version and I'm still interested in the game.

----

Edit 2: Reinstalled version 2.0 and finally reached the Phantom Liberty content. But all dialogue (German localization) with Mr. Hands aswell as all DLC dialogue is entirely silent, so I went with downloading the entire PhL expansion again (since CDPR/GOG failed to provide a patcher). Updating PhL to 2.01 required yet another full reinstall as patch 2.01 couldn't be applied – because this time I was too lazy to rename the GameServicesGOG.dll I had to get rid of to launch the 2.0 in the first place, and instead deleted it. Fair enough, that was my bad.

Now, what's the effect of a complete reinstall with patch 2.01 applied and PhL version 2.01 installed on top of it? The game reverts (from German) to English and I can't enter the main menu. Ugh, truly not having the greatest experience with PhL's offline installers. Time for my very first refund on GOG. But hey, at least the many changes introduced to the base game in patch 2.0 seem pretty good, over all. Can't complain about them, except that with uninstalling PhL I'll yet again lose my savegames and thus my will to give 2077 another chance in the years to come.

"A wrecked NCPD cruiser without wheels won't be patrolling the streets of Night City anymore."

I'm actually sad that was fixed. That was hilarious every single time I seen it.
Are the Twitch Prime rewards included for free in this patch?

No? Ok. I will be back for the next patch when they are.
Setting aside My Rewards and Twitch Drops for just a second, does this patch fix what the Most Helpful reviews are talking about? Apparently, PL crashing without Galaxy unless a workaround is used?

Edit: it seems so, based on what a user above wrote. Guess I should ask in the 2077 forum too.

I can confirm that game does not crash anymore without Galaxy. Did crash before for me - not anymore.
Also, savegames are loading fine after updating base game and DLC. It's a pity that CDPR does not offer incremental patches though.

Cool, cool. Thanks.

Personally I'd be okay with Gog editing the top reviews with "Update: ... " info to reflect this, since currently the top four reviews all mention the Galaxy crashing issue and give it 1 star for it. (I recognize there's still the matter of Rewards and Drops of course.)

GOG should not touch people's reviews!
GOG should implement review editing for users themselves. It's 2023. If they make evergreen games, they should allow evergreen reviews.

They've done it previously, leaving the original review alone but editing in an "update" on top. Of course I also agree about implementing review editing.

The problem is that they can do that for their own games, but do they do that for 3rd party games that are suffering from outdated reviews? Probably not, which makes this a bit unfair for the 3rd party games.

Users being able to edit their own reviews would be fair. The ability for users to comment on reviews would also allow the community to point out whether a review is up to date or not.
