So I was able to download the game, I think, but now I have no idea how to get it to play ha ha I have the files but Windows 8 won't run it. Is there an app or special program that will help with conversion?

If it's a DOS game, you'll have to use DOSbox. Setting it up may seem a bit complicated at first, but it's really not that hard.

If it's a 16 bit Windows application and you're using a 64 bit OS, then there's not much you can do to run it.

You could try setting up a Linux VM and running the game in WINE in the VM; I got Exile: Escape from the Pit running this way.

(Of course, if you can get ahold of Windows 3.1, you could try running *that* in a VM.)

That's certainly an option. I tried to run "Indiana Jones and his Desktop Adventures" that way, which unfortunately didn't work out, because the installer kept complaining about not being able to find the game's floppy disk. So, that's where I gave up, as I'm pretty much Linux/WINE illiterate.

I do still have an installation of the game on my Windows XP PC, so maybe I should try if those files run in WINE.
Alright. Thanks guys! I'll give those a try and see what happens. If I remember right the version I want to run might actually be a DOS version. Fingers crossed...
