I don't know how it works with Warhammer II but usually Dx 12 specific versions enables by default all sort of new effect that can kill your FPS if you don't have 2080Ti or better (especially if it's anything ray traced related). But normally disable those extra effects and you are back to your original FPS; unless the devs were dumb enough to force those settings on with no possibility to turn then off.

No warhammer II directx12 is to my knowledge operating under the same conditions as 11 at least that is what i conclude after looking at the options

Radiance1979: anyway.... there must be compatibility issues i'm sure of it... i'm now certain to have the latest microsoft update installed... will check out games such as total war warhammer II and control to see if my system will crash .... and such

it is dx12 afterall

timppu: Oh ok. So the worry is that it will cause some of our older (GOG) games not to work anymore, causing backwards incompatibility? I didn't get the context from the first message.

Ok, I have no idea whether introducing a new DX will cause such. Did DX12 or DX11? My understanding always was that older games didn't care about DX12, as long as you had DX9 installed as well.

Yeah if it will make some of my games non-functional, naturally I will be royally pissed and write a letter to president Trump. Again.
You should... as much as possible, its just that all these grand promises that where done with the introduction of 12 are more or less out of context with the upcoming generation of games and newer gpu's. Not to mention the more or less failure with 11 to succeed 9 on some sharpening graphics plane while growing file size and complexity.

my hope is on dx 13!

Anyway i had to double check before i would make further conclusions,

Open UI on directx 11 delivers about the same results as no open UI on dx 12

those british sods are getting worse each year with graphically optimizing their games.

Already reached the conclusion of quiting with my total war tradition and every new update of theirs solidifies that conviction

anyway nothing to conclude other then ...

the sun is coming down, ever so slowly... but i would start running if i where you!

God!

i hate it to be wrong,

after looking into the various options i just found out that i'm now even able to play on alias x2 mode with reasonable operating costs in Warhammer 2. ( SSAO enabled, filtering times 16, reflective off, shadows textures terrain unit models high, sharpening on, rest is either off or on medium )

sorry microsoft, sorry nvidia
