I will start by recommending the unofficial sequel to Touhou 6- The embodiment of scarlet devil

Maihana Soumakyou aka Azure Reflections! It really is the direct sequel to Touhou 6 but with a twist. It is side scrolling instead of vertical!

The bullet hell games with Touhou are awesome. Never cared about trying anything else since the spinoffs gave me the impression of catering to those that don't enjoy bullet hells but still enjoy everything else about the franchise.

You just gotta love the man behind Touhou though, spending his days drinking beer and making Touhou. Legend has it that it's often at the same time, if that's true that would mean he probably tests the hard levels while intoxicated. I hope he doesn't start doing games sober.

Touhou goes Deathsmiles, might have to try it out sometime. If not just for the novelty of having it horizontal since most bullet hells are vertical.

I think the primary point on why ZUNs games are so popular is that he actually listens to the fanbase (or at least pretty much observes it from the sidelines) and creates games according to what his fanbases feel. I wouldn't be suprised if he also watches youtube videos like the ones I've linked, including stuff he made himself just to know what people say.

Speaking of Touhou music remixes, does anyone know of any good classical style remixes of the music? (That is, remixed to sound like classical music, with the sort of instruments typically used for classical music.) I would be interested in hearing some of them.
