Let me begin this by saying that i am by no means experienced when it comes to the tower defence genre.

With that out of the way i would like to recommend yet another Touhou fangame.

Gensokyo Defenders combines TD with a twin stick shooter (the latter being what initially drew me to it)

It's... better than i expected it to be. Tons of playable characters, upgradeable traps and so on. Quirky,witty writing and translation is a plus, but that is expected in any Touhou game.
