New Update:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/torment-tides-of-numenera/posts/547455

Numenera (the P&P RPG) comes out next month and the pledge tiers available to get those books (digital or physical) will be unavailable soon.
Post edited July 23, 2013 by Crosmando
So if you pre-ordered it via the Kickstarters, the Numenera Starter's Guide is now out. You should receive an email from DriveThruRPG with a coupon code and instructions that allow you to "buy" the downloadable pdf for nothing.

You have to add add-ons by clicking the appropriate donate button on the store page (below the regular tiers).
Updated our Journal (22): Creatively Crafting Crises

Update too big to fit here, so tl;dr only.
TL;DR: Info about Numenera books and the Wasteland 2 Beta; area design process; crafting system design; a design concept we’re calling Crises.
Updated our Journal (23): In Memoriam
Back in March, we were contacted by a backer whose gaming group wanted to pledge a memorial in the Valley of Dead Heroes for their friend, Roddrick Keith Johnson, who had died in 2010. As we are working on a game that explores one’s legacy, the impact of one life on those of others, we were moved by their dedication to their friend and family member. They wanted to honor his memory, to acknowledge how great and positive an impact Rod had on those who knew him. Here is our tribute to him.

Roddrick Keith Johnson Eulogy
Dumb question. Is there an actual Official community forum (for user discussion like Wasteland 2 one rather than existing one) for this?.

https://torment.inxile-entertainment.com//torment.uservoice.com seems mainly for feedback & KS stuff
http://tormentrpg.tumblr.com links to pages about the game

Nope, just the Uservoice. I've heard on the grapevine that it's intentional, because of how bad the trolling/melodrama/spamming got on the WL2 boards and how hard it was for them to constantly moderate it all.
Fun coïncidence : I learnt last week that Brother None was working with inXile (yep, I'm late like that) and nowour local Numenera thread pops up and there is indeed 4 posts above a post from Brother None dutifully confirming his presence all over the wezb.

Keep being awesome at what you do guys, I wish the best to you all in your present and future projects.

Whoever told you that was full of shit.

Anyway, Update 24: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/torment-tides-of-numenera/posts/653368
TL;DR: Tides, Q&A with Colin McComb, combat discussion begins!, new Torment forums

Wow, combat discussions could become really impressive.
Anyway, I think that both systems are generally suitable, but as paused real-time is faster, I think this should be the choice for Torment: Tides.
It gave Planescape: Torment a great fluent design to have such fast combats...
New update.

Most important thing is that backers can vote whether they prefer turn-based combat or real-time with pause. So make sure to vote to help shape game your way.
Hopefuly you will help shape it towards RTWP combat. :-)

Rest of post is about Wasteland and Mandate and Deathfire kickstarters. That Mandate one looks really cool.

But I wanted dialogue based combat.
You fight like a farmer!

How appropriate, you fight like a cow.

I hope those weren't just empty words and you actually tried suggesting it on Numera suggestion board. :-)

More or less the ravings of a madman (or at least someone who tries to be funny but fails). As I recall from the previous update though, they weren't going to go for a third system, though dialogue resolutions to encounters were planned.
