Mrstarker: I got disillusioned with it once Kvothe fucked the Felurian. The world's greatest wizard, the world's greatest lover and a capable martial artist... too much like teenage fantasy for me.
Perhaps...but that makes the character all the more interesting when you consider his downfall. Perhaps not the greatest lover, but certainly one that knew Felurian's name, otherwise he would had been killed like the rest of the poor sods she picked up. It also makes it more tragic since his new knowledge brings him even more misery as concerns Denna. So maybe it is not the most credible character development arc, but I don't think it detracts from the flow of the story, its progression or indeed the quality of Rothfuss' writing. Kvothe is supposed to be a mythical superhero, warrior god of old and he is telling the story that everyone wants to hear. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some embellishments in his tale to the Chronicler.
But enough of that and let us return to Torment.
