simon.j: Dawn of Discovery a.k.a. Anno 1404?
avatar
Phc7006: 1602 AD / Anno 1602: Creation of a New World would also be a possibility

jkiiskinen: So the hint could actually be for a viking-themed game, like Dusk of the Gods, Vikings: Fields of Conquest, Hammer of the Gods or Vikings: The Strategy of Ultimate Conquest.

Phc7006: Or Northland (http://www.mobygames.com/game/northland)
I've heard a ton of good things about the Anno series! Anno 1602 has over 1200 votes!
I'm thinking Discovery: Steps of Columbus. It's an Impressions title of which we already have several (Zeus, Poseidon, Pharaoh, Cleopatra, Caesar 3, Lords of Magic, Lords of the Realm).

That would be our first Activision published title in a while too, maybe a sign of even more to come...

JudasIscariot: "Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492..." is this week's hint :)
Allegedly he would sometimes race other ships too, oddly the races often ending in a tie.

OooooHHH! That's it! TIE FIGHTER! LucasArts releases! Woohoo!

JudasIscariot: "Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492..."
...and landed on a tropical island.

My bet is on Tropico 4 and/or 5. (Please please please please please!)
Sid Meier's Colonization, perhaps? :D

You mean, this one? :D

Grargar: You mean, this one? :D
Yes, I admit. I thought about that one. So perhaps we will get a remake along with four parts of Civilization. :D
Sid Meier's Civilization (1991) is my guess :)

Of all the guesses, I would want this guess to be reality, and I would hope Civilization 2 would follow :)

Who owns the distribution rights to 1 and 2? Microprose is labeled on Wikipedia and Moby games. I know Firaxis and 2k own the later ones.

I wouldn't be surprised if Take-Two had the rights to the whole Civilization IP. Microprose was purchased by Hasbro and Hasbro by Infogrames (now Atari) and I saw no mention of Civilization amongst Atari's auctioned IPs last year, so Atari must have sold everything regarding Civilization to Take-Two.

But I doubt it will be Civilization, as Judas didn't mention classic in his hint.

At least we know it's probably to do with water, and boats, and maybe combat as well (like pirates, or naval battles), but I'm aiming more towards a game featuring trading and exploration, even if it's not directly related to Columbus.
