With twelve participants hosted by Mat of the MatCat duo, everything about this event screams insane awesomeness and awesome insanity.

We will also be starting with two teams of trigger-happy streamers ready to cause some ‘splosions! Team Red will feature Outstar, Piranjade, Donis, Senteria, Sharien Radaik, and Metal Addict, while Team Blue will feature Memories in 8bit, GeordyJones, ScreamingJoypad, Ryusenshu, Judas, and VideoGameCarnage.

A special extra player has been drawn from willing participants in the chat - congrats to ChrisTX4, who will be joining the killing fun!

seikus: I never play an Unreal. Which one do you recomend me?
Very first one with mission pack for single player.

Unreal Gold. It's got an excellent single player campaign and some of the best design I've seen in such a game, as well as a really good multiplayer/bot match mode that's basically a "light" version of the later Unreal Tournament games.

If you prefer a pure arena shooter, focused entirely on multiplayer/bot matches, go for Unreal Tournament 2004.

micktiegs_8: It's hard to tell what people are trying to say on here most of the time. It's one of the reasons I don't change my avatar because it's so apt.
Fair enough :)

Well, it wasn't a trick question. I just wanted to know what they meant by a "streamer". It's a perfectly good noun, but completely nonsensical in the context in which they've used it.

"Streaming" refers to the practice of doing a live broadcast (a "stream")- of gameplay footage, for example- on the internet, usually on sites like twitch.tv. So, a "streamer" is anyone who does exactly that.
As such, it makes perfect sense in the context used here.

Now the tournament is over and I am still left in awe. This has been - once more - an amazing event and I am very proud to be part of the amazing GOG #StreamTeam. Being on this team of wonderful people is seriously one of the best things ever and I am incredibly happy I can call them my friends.

As for the tournament, I thing we really raised the bar. True, we are by no means pro players. But I think we gave you a wonderful show which hopefully entertained you thoroughly. Everyone improved in their skills and especially the team-play. We all gave it our best and there were so many wonderful moments - too many to count. The countless weeks we spent in preparation, we spent to make that event into what it was - into something big - were not in vain.

I'm very exhausted and going back to normal Streamer-schedule will be hard for me. But the show must go on!
But before that happens, please allow me to leave credits, thanks and congratulations where due:

I have to say this tournament was absolutely insanely awesome. There is so much KUDOS left unsaid...
Mat - for doing all what he did - VFX, organization, hosting, commentating, etc.
Outstar - for winning, doing art, organization, etc.
Ryusenshu - for playing while being sick
Senteria - for COMPLETELY stealing the show in BR
metal_addict - for getting into the finals
JudasIsCariot - for getting into the Tournament the last minute
Classicor and Ebenezer (E___a) - for all the chat maintenance and score keeping
ChrisTX4 - for winning the raffle and making a great debut in the tournament
EVERYONE - for raising the bar with incredible training and amazing effort and endurance during the show
you Viewers of course - for cheering and supporting us and being THERE :)
EPIC Games - for supporting us with getting the word out there, sponsoring prices, etc.
and last but not least GOG - for forging this amazing #StreamTeam, allowing us to do this great show and getting the word out.

I am almost sure I forgot someone. But please do not feel offended. EVERYONE involved was great and absolutely invaluable!. Thank you all so much!

*cough* Cat *cough* ... ;)
Of course!
Cat - for being part of all this madness despite her never playing an FPS before. :)
and also
PiranJade - for being the positive spirit of the whole group and playing for 3 hours with a ping that would have made a lot of people ragequit - but she kept her smile ALL THE TIME!

Special kudos to yourself for doing that awesome field commentary and still rocking the tournament. :)
Special kudos for everyone, in fact. The UT2004 Championship was, once again, a total blast, and I had tons of fun. ^.^
Everyone deserve a thanks - Mat for hosting, Chris for field commentery, Outstar for being the celebrity there, Piranjade for Hoppiyu Hopping, all streamers/mods who trained and participated, Classicor and E__A for supporting from shadows of chat, Judas for giving tournament a bit of polish lessons. ;) Chat, for the friendly atmosphere and cheering.
Just everybody.
#TeamHoppityHop still best.
;)
Ugh, that feeling when you want to buy a game but have only 2$ left on your prepaid card :(

Barry_Woodward: We're still missing Unreal Tournament 3: Black. Come on, GOG!

Vote: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/unreal_tournament_3
This might happen when Galaxy is up to handling it. Alternatively they may use it to drum up interest in their new game. If that's the case I doubt we'll be seeing anything of it for over a year.
