Bookwyrm627: Internet coverage is good to have. Cell service I could manage without (did it for a number of years). No decent pizza would be hard. Add 300 inches of snow in a year and it is time to move.

What sort of advantages could make up for that? You have a magic cure-all panacea around somewhere?

Edit: Looking at google images, you DO have some very pretty views.
The snow is an afterthought. The roads are always open and clear and the schools never close. Everyone here respects each other; no assholes at all. No traffic. No crowds. Plenty of bears, moose, deer, eagles. The cleanest air in North America. I could go on.

That actually would be a very, very persuasive argument if I didn't dislike snow and being cold as much as I do. Especially the lack of assholes.

It never gets below 20 here. Well it's going to this Sunday but that's a deep freeze that evidently the whole country is getting hit with. Minnesota is totally freaking out.

Trilarion: Who says homosexuals are not as conservative as heterosexuals?
avatar
Klumpen0815: They can't be or they'd be in complete denial.
I can often see some very conservative elements there though, that's right.

Trilarion: Tax advantages and legal implication are also attached to a state sanctioned marriage. Also it's now often called partnership instead of marriage which is kind of less traditional and more focused on these financial and legal advantages.
avatar
Klumpen0815: If you're living together with someone you automatically get the financial disadvantaged anyway, so it would be fair to automatically get the advantages too, without marriage.
Seeing how Germany has the lowest birth rate on the planet by now, some tax exceptions should rather be made to people who create and raise children and not to people who indirectly promised to do so via marriage (which originally was an aggreement to start a biologically made family btw.).
Low German birth rate is potentially not a bad thing considering the rise in German population that the Syrian refugee crisis is creating though... ;-P
Isn't "Alabama" some dreary, irrelevant Midwestern shithole where the economy is worth less than most Third World countries? Everyone knows that the only American places that really matter (economically and politically) are New York and California.

Shadowstalker16: OK impeachment may be a bit different there. There must be something to bar him from his job considering he used his tax funded position in the judiciary for something that is illegal though.

Many teachers have warned me against it.

Gnostic: Even in India too?

I thought marriage is still good in India?
Quite risky when you marry the second you turn 21.

I'd change with you in a heartbeat.
Wanna take my place in a dirty European metropolis?
I'd advise you to become a muslim beforehand because of the demographic change that is happening though.

Before is illegal and and just after turning 21 may land you with a family well before you could provide for one or that and have a passing flame as a wife and make both your lives hell.

Erm, why one wants to marry a passing flame? I thought India women are more respectful of their husband?
The Supreme Court simply claimed that a marriage license (gay or straight) obtained in one state will be valid in another regardless of whether or not the license came from the other state. In other words, it ruled that a marriage license will be treated similar to a driver's license.

That being said, the state offices owe nothing to homosexuals who claim that marriage should also be between same-sex couples. I personally believe in the privatization of marriage since it would solve this whole pointless issue meaning marriage should not revolve around government paper and the "rights" assigned to marriage are false rights that should not be based upon marriage at all. I will say I believe in consideration to children (adopted ones in this case) and the effects same-sex "parents" will have on their development and I would happily support candidates who oppose same-sex marriage as long as they are sound on other issues like the debt and Islamic terrorism.

My hope is that the Supreme Court ruling will lead to conceal carry permits being treated like driver's licenses in that validity in one state will apply to other states and I hope that will lead to constitutional carry (no mystical pieces of paper needed to allow me to legally carry a weapon under my shirt or coat) but apparently some people believe the right of one man to pack the fudge of another man is more important than personal defense rights.
Can't stand homosexuals getting married, but lets hope I can carry my gun anywhere!

Actually, no. The Supreme Court actually ruled that the fundamental right to marry applies to same sex couples, and therefore all states have to issue licenses.
