"The Witcher's Henry Cavill told IGN during our San Diego Comic-Con live show that he's played through The Witcher 3 multiple times: a true Geralt of Rivia."

Breja: Never.

It's a Netflix exclusive. The whole point of those is to make people subscribe to Netflix, and they never get released in any other way.
There are no pirated versions?

agogfan: I wonder how long this will take to make it to DVD and Blu-ray?

Well, in the US many Netflix series do get DVD / Blu Ray releases

Yeah, still not a fan of what I'm seeing. Cavill just looks like a muscle-bound weirdo. I know his involvement brought money to the project -- and that he claims to love The Witcher books and games -- but IMHO he's terribly cast... to teh point of undermining the project. He reminds me of an 80's romance novel cover with a fantasy twist. Why not just cast Fabio as Geralt?

There are always those. But I wouldn't exactly call that an official release :D
I wonder if we will see anything on Amazon's Lord of the Rings soon this Comic Con.

A whole bevy of trailers have been coming out like HBO's Watchmen, Star Trek: Picard and this.

I had no idea. Damn, it's a pity american DVD's won't work here. The new Dark Crystal series of their's looks awesome and I'd love to own it on DVD.

Yeah, he looks to pretty, and too muscled. Geralt should have a thinner frame, Cavill looks more like he should fight with a giant hammer or a double axe rather than make gracefull twists with a sword. But what really kills me is the hair. It looks so incredibly fake. For all the talk of how cheap the old Polish tv show looked (and it did), Żebrowski as Geralt actually looked much better - both the actor and the make up/costume.
Witcher books are inspired of slavic mythology and the folklore of Poland.

The trailer looks like a cosplay party at new york central park.

Sure i am looking forward to the series, but i have no high hopes.

You can get Daredevil on Bluray. It doesn't make much sense, but they do have a physical media option.
'Bad boy' Legolas.
I know they are inspired by the books first and foremost but I don't know what to expect. Even the small details seem off to me. Maybe I just got too used to CD Projekt Gerald. The first thing that really was off for me was the wolf medalion when it comes to small details not to mention others.

Agree. He looked much better. I actually quite enjoyed the few episodes I watched. Wish those were released on DVD in NA.

I don't think Cavill is a particularly bad actor, but he just looks ridiculous -- stuffed into that costume. I think he could be great in a Witcher show... but just not as Geralt.

My dream casting for Geralt will always be Mads Mikkelsen. He's intense, has the gaunt but muscled physique, can do actrion (Valhalla Rising), and has a deep sadness that he naturally exudes. Yeah, he's a bit old for the Geralt they want to portray, but he's perfect IMHO.

Feel the same... even the Witcher logo / medallion symbol looks unispired and wrong (no one is going to want that around their neck!). CDPR designed The Witcher wonderfully, but this show's design looks like a rush job with mediocre talent.

I actually agree with almost everything you two guys said (commentary about giant hammer or double axe is just silly though, nobody used those as a weapon IRL), except that I actually kinda like Cavill as Geralt, sure he doesn't look as good as Polish series dude (Žebrowski?) or Mads, but he's kinda okay. Probably the same for (most?) the other actors. What irks me, is design of everything else. Colors look like absolute crap, like I am watching Asylum adaptation of Skyrim and not the Witcher. Medallion is crap as well, I agree.
Dryads of Brooklyn lol
Might become my favourite movie

I was only able to buy the DVD versions of Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage in South Africa. They do look good though, but I assume my TV or DVD player thus has a good upscaling algorithm, whichever one handles the conversion.

However, if The Witcher is going to have high production values, I'd prefer to have the choice to buy the Blu-ray version.
