You also did not recognise the obvious Dune plagarism to start with, so no, again, common sense failed in your case.
Common sense fails most of the times. That's why modern, civilised people tend to not rely on it if possible.
There's an old saying. It goes something like "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me" lol.

Well, that aside. I'll let you get back to insulting of people, since you seem to find much joy in that. But please, do continue your passionate debunking of The Wheel of Time author, even though the man has already passed away (R.I.P RJ).

Also, watch a comedy or something, you could use humor in your life. Trust me, it'll do you a world of good.

JakobFel: I haven't read them yet but I plan to. No offense but I never listen to the "plagiarism" accusations. I've found quite a few awesome series that were accused of that and in almost every case, I firmly disagree with said accusations. Additionally, as a Christian myself, the Christian message is absolutely up my alley. That is a major reason why the works of Tolkien and Lewis appeal to me so much.

It'd be time though to face reality. The Earth is not flat, and WoT is not good, objectively speaking. But I won't stop you reading.
It's true that Tolkien wasn't pressing an agenda but his work is so deeply saturated with Christian archetypes, messages and themes that you'd have to be intentionally ignoring fact to not see that.

I'm also going to ignore your personal jab. My comment made no personal attacks yet you chose to do so, which shows a tinge of immaturity if we're being honest.

It was just meant for that particular reply. If we're being honest, words can't hurt unless we let them. Though obviously, that’s easier said than done.

Now for example, if a King in the past said the words "Execute this commoner!". The words themselves didn't do any damage (other than perhaps induce fear), but the resulting action I'm sure proved fatal and I'm also sure the commoner in question would agree (on the fatal part), at least up until they were beheaded or hanged.

Side note: Those sticks were likely magicked by a mage +1 enchantment spell and the cleric probably summoned the stones the same way using a divine spell. The words you saw on the sticks and stones were likely runes from the original enchantments. =P

The Throne of Glass books kinda suck.

I've been thinking of starting Wheel of Time this year though. I've heard a lot of good things, if you can get past the slogs and the slow parts. I don't really mind it being heavily inspired by other popular works.
