Kaptain Brawe: A Brawe New World

Updated to 3.1.2.12 (Galaxy & Offline Installer - Windows) & 3.1.2.13 (Galaxy & Offline Installer - Mac) & 3.1.2.19 (Linux)

Changelog posted by the developer in the game forum:
Game Update 001 - 09/2024

Hi Everyone,

A new version of the game is now available, with various smaller fixes and improvements.

This is the first of many planned updates that will come to this game on GOG. We regualarly work on our old games, brining fixes and improvements, and sometimes bigger features :)
For Kaptain Brawe specifically we have big plans in the coming 6-12 months, for example we're working on gamepad support currently.

So, if you find any issues, minor annoyances or even something simple as a typo - please point it out, here on the forum or at support@cateia.com.

Now, back to this update, here's what' new:

Improvements:

Subtitle sync fixed
Some users experienced subtitles not syncing to voiceovers properly. This should now be fixed for good. The game now uses the actual playback position from the sound card instead of an arbitrary timer.
If you experienced desync in the previous version, please give the new version a try and let us know in the comments if it's working ok now on your PC.

Support for full text in subtitles
Several players pointed out that if you're playing the game on a language other than English or German, then some subtitles often pass way too quickly to read them. With this new option you can now see the entire subtitle at once instead of split into 2-3 smaller segments.

Additionally, you can now opt to manually click to advance subtitles, a feature that existed when voiceovers were turned off, but now works in combitation with voiceovers (but only if full text mode is selected). The text will stay on until you click on it, so you can read it at your leasure.

Support for hiding subtitles
Due to popular demand, you can now opt to play the game without subtitles.
However, this will work only if you have chosen English voices and are playing the English version of the game (Or German voiceovers + german version).

Fixes:

Improved Russian translation
Thanks to steam user uka7777, The russian translation has been improved! Over the years we addded more features and thus - more texts, which we had to translate using Google translate. Which is, well, less than ideal translation-wise.
If anyone else is willing to help out with inspecting and/or fixing other translations, contact us at support@cateia.com :)

Fixed game lock in Schminkell 7
Thanks to steam user Kuulintu, we managed to find and fix a problem in Schminkell 7 where you could hard-lock the game up if you played in a certain order.

Changelog from the official website:
Aquarius Update

September 4, 2024.

5.10 Patch Notes

• Players can now install a Fishing Rig in their Multi-Tool, enabling them to cast their line into any body of water and begin fishing. Purchase Fishing Rig blueprints aboard the Space Anomaly.
• Over 160 varieties of fish are available to catch. Finding each fish will require exploration of different planets, fishing at different times of day and during different weather conditions, and trawling across a wide range of depths.
• Your catch history, including weight records, is recorded in the new Fishing section of the Wonders catalogue.
• Craft specialist bait and apply it to your Fishing Rig to lure in specific fish.
• In addition, any edible item can be deployed as bait. Experiment with different cooked products to find the most effective bait for your fishing feeds.
• A large range of new seafood recipes have been added for the Nutrient Processor.
• Those who do not wish to consume or sell their catch may release their fish back into the water.
• Occasionally, inanimate objects may be retrieved from the water instead of fish. Such objects include procedurally generated messages in bottles and water-damaged technology upgrades.
• Automated Traps are available to research in the Space Anomaly. These self-sustaining units are an alternative to manual angling, and will attract fish as appropriate for the water conditions in which they are placed.
• The Exo-Skiff is a new piece of deployable technology, summoned from the Quick Menu after its interface is installed in the Exosuit. Research the appropriate blueprints aboard the Space Anomaly.
• The Exo-Skiff hovers just above the surface of the water and reacts to wave movement to create the perfect deep-sea fishing platform for those looking for deep-water fish.
• The skiff comes with a dedicated Cold Storage inventory, allowing players to conveniently store their catches.
• The Exo-Skiff can be recoloured via its own internal customisation interface.
• Fishing is fully compatible with first and third person play, and has unique casting mechanics for VR players.
• New music tracks have been added to accompany the fishing experience.

② Simulation
• Added periscope and UZO graticule i l l u m i n a t i o n in a dark weather.

③ Technical
• Fix: Resolved incompatibility with Intel graphic processing units that was leading to various artifacts being displayed near ports.

④ Missions
• Multiple patrol assignments with the same destination are no longer offered at the same time.
• Added objective markers that point wolfpack formation spots. Please note, that they will appear only for wolfpacks formed after the update, but the coordinates can be also read from the HQ message saved in the journal.
• Fix: Japanese submarines could sometimes remain permanently at the rendezvous spot after a mission.
• Fix: It's no longer possible to change torpedo run depth during tutorial #3. Instead, their depth is automatically set to 1.5 meters.

⑧ Achievements
• Fix: Battleship Hunter achievement change from Patch 12 was rarely working in practice.
• Fix: Researcher and Safe and Sound achievements could be obtained in campaigns that started at a later date than those mentioned in their descriptions.

⑨ General
• Time compression is now limited to x12 during torpedo launching, since higher time compression could decrease salvo accuracy, especially if FPS wasn't high enough.
• Fix: If certain steps involving saving and reloading were performed, it was possible for a single shell or rocket damage to multiply many times and become unreasonably high.
• Fix: If scroll at the screen edges option is enabled, the map is no longer being scrolled when the game's window doesn't have an active focus or the cursor is outside the window.

Yours,
DWS
