Hey Drifters,
Here's a small Quality of Life update that continues on 0.8: Farming and 0.8.2: The Chef. Crops will no longer be temporarily found in supermarkets. Instead, you can now find them at landmarks in rural regions. We've also added a Mill that mills wheat into flour, creating a more streamlined process for producing Yummy food.

What's next?

There's still a much-needed update needed to the localization, as some languages have been lagging behind. They will get a welcome refresh soon! However, certain parts, such as the Survival Guide, may still be untranslated as we're planning to expand the tutorial and information sections of the game shortly after. So localization will be updated in chunks over the month of July :)

Early Access 0.8.3: QoL

0.8.3 introduces several Quality of Life (QoL) improvements, farming additions, fixes, and miscellaneous changes.

Quality of Life

• Buoy markers now retain drifter amount and radius settings. When placing a buoy marker, it will use the most recent settings.
• Multiple drifters can now be assigned to construct a building.
• The Town Tugger now displays an error if it is not connected to the Townheart's energy grid.
• Added a toggle in the Options Panel to force Keyboard and Mouse Input.
• Small performance increases when navigating the Map.
• The offscreen direction pointer for the town can now be clicked to pan the camera to the center of the town.
• Landmarks now toggled default to Boats when out of swimming range.

Farming Additions

• The Rural Region now features Farmland landmarks containing crops.
• Drifter and supermarket landmarks have been significantly reduced in the Rural Region, as they are primarily intended for City regions.
• New Construction: Mill. The Mill slowly processes wheat into flour.
• Flour now replaces wheat as an ingredient in certain food recipes.
• Slight rebalances to the food pipeline for various recipes.
• Supermarkets no longer provide crops for salvage.

It has been exactly one year since the release of SlavicPunk: Oldtimer on PC platforms, and the development team at Red Square Games has decided to celebrate this anniversary by publishing a very important update for the game. • Easy - For players new to tactics games.

Stealth

• Updated Rebound's Shadow Blitz ultimate so that it does not alert enemies if they're KOed during the attack sequence.
• Removed exit cell from enemy perception area in Acquaintance to reduce confusion about if they are seen by another enemy or not, i.e. it was ambiguous if a red square was shown on an enemy’s space was from their own perception or another enemy’s. This should now be more clear.
• Defeated Enhanced no longer alert Unaware enemies with their explosion.
• Added info and stat to Explosive Barrels and Security Bots to note that they alert Unaware enemies in range when they explode.
• Reduced Security Bot Alert Range from 7 to 5.

Optional Objectives

• Updated Ledge KOs objective to be more generous. Defeating an enemy with damage that would otherwise be KOed by a ledge, now counts towards the objective. This includes defeating Security Bots with Disarm.

Experience (XP)

• Increased the XP rewards on some missions.
• Updated Mercurial's XP requirement to reach Hero Level 5 to be consistent with the other heroes (from 100 to 140XP). Note that this will result in all players who had levelled up Mercurial to level 5 to drop back to level 4. All purchased upgrades from level 5 will remain unlocked and usable.

• Added a disable Camera Shake option to the Accessibility menu.
• Moved Load Quicksave, Load Checkpoint and Restart options to the main Pause menu for more visibility.

This patch fixes bugs, improves quest related ui, makes gentle regions more gentle, and adds a new difficulty setting: survival mode!

Behind the scenes we have also been doing some design and laying the groundwork for better quests. This should lead to more quests soon enough. This week we have only managed to add one, and that one turned out a little more difficult than we originally intended.

Gameplay changes

• The only fortune test affected by the encumbered condition is climbing.
• Adds a new low to mid level encounter: blighted flesh
• You can use the map in Haven to commit to more quests.
• You get better feedforward when using the map to commit quests.
• When you enter a site with an active or possible quest, the quest goal is indicated in the hud.
• The active combat indicator was moved to the top right of the screen.
• Removes most hazards while traveling through gentle regions.
• Adds campsites at ‘long climb’ level exits.
