Cathedral 1.3 is here!

We're back with another update! As some of you might have noticed, we have started to port the game to consoles and released on the Switch a while back.

As part of porting the game, we also made quite a lot of changes, and now we're finally bringing the PC port in line with the Switch port, after a lot of testing!

Let's get down to the details and talk about what we've changed! These are the highlights:
• Performance fixes
• New font for small UI texts
• Localization support
• Some room updates
• Sword responsiveness tweaks

Performance fixes
As part of the Nintendo port, we've gone over the game and reduced load times for levels as well as fixes to increase the framerate, especially in areas with many enemies on-screen at the same time. On most modern computers, this might not be extremely noticeable, but you might notice less framerate stutter, especially on lower-end laptops.

New font for small UI texts
In order to make the smaller UI text readable on small screens, as well as simplifying localization, we've updated the font.

Localization support
While this is still in it's early stages, we've prepared the game for future languages. As part of this, we added Swedish as our first translation, and we're hoping to be able to add more languages down the line!

Some room updates
If you still haven't played through the game, consider this section to contain potential spoilers
! We've added a few minor tweaks to some rooms to cut down on unnecessary backtracking. This room in in particular has been on our list for some time:

Sword responsiveness tweaks!
This is one of those things we didn't realize we wanted to do until we tried it out ourselves. Since release, there has been a need to time your button presses as you're swinging your sword to get it up to full speed. If you timed it wrong, you slashed at a slower rate, even if you mashed the button as fast as you could.

Basically, if you hit the attack button mid-attack, it won't register the next attack. This is fine for the most part, except when you hit the attack button at the very end of an attack (but not before it fully ended). We've added a small buffer here that allows you to hit the button slightly earlier, resulting in MUCH more even attack rates with the sword.

...And various other tweaks!
There are, as usual, a number of smaller tweaks not mentioned explicitly, such as a new icon for clicking the right stick (that you use for potions), scrollable textboxes in the interfaces and so on. We hope you'll find this patch useful! Until next time!

1. BECOME A FRIDGE
Yes, we did it. We answered your countless demand. Now you can be a fridge in Monster Camp.
It is 100% for free as an update. You can unlock this new character in the meta-shop.
The fridge comes with a lot of new art. Fridge in the lake; fridge in the love log; fridge in the haunted manor...

2. OPTION: FULL CREDITS
We added "FULL CREDITS" in the settings. This lets you navigate the credits more peacefully.
What's more important: here is where we will add all EXTRA CREDITS of people collaborating with the game after-release. Unfortunately, adding new names to the credits is kinda hard, provided it is an animation. So this is a good solution to add everyone!

3. STEAM STUFF
We've added all that shiny cool Steam stuff! Collect the trading cards, emotes, and more!
We had a fun time donig these little things for you enjoy! We hope you like them.

NOTE: we realized there is an error with the text of one trading card. We're trying to solve it, since Steam doesn't need you to edit those once published. Fingers crossed!

It seems April 2021 will be the official date for the start of production of "Monster Roadtrip".

Maybe we can have some status update on the start of production later this month (probably on a public Kickstarter update).
We're starting to experiment with things and discuss stuff.

We're also finishing the KS exclusive alternative character pack. We need to prepare the voices. Aiming for summer... but who knows?

And we've prepared a good number of free outfit packs coming as part of future updates (and maybe one or two paid). The idea is to have at least 1 free content per major update.
FREE CONTENT: outfit pack or alternative playable character (but most likely outfit pack, due to workload)
MAJOR UPDATE: Summer, Halloween, and Winter

And that's all!

So happy to keep adding weird stuff to this game... while we start working on a whole new one too! (:

Patch Notes
• Fixed an issue that caused portable refiners and other placed objects to vanish in high network activity areas.
• Fixed an issue that could cause some interactions to become unresponsive in high-network traffic situations.
• Improved the audio effect when a mission patch is displayed on screen.
• Fixed an issue that could cause weapon labels to scroll unnecessarily on the HUD.
• Fixed an issue that could cause the mode select text to appear to have a fuzzy outline when selected.
• Fixed a number of icon issues affecting missions supplied by NPCs found in planetary buildings.
• Fixed an issue that caused the Inventory Full warning on the Expedition Page to appear in ALL CAPS.

• Fixed an issue that could cause an expedition to end prematurely. This fix will prevent the issue from occurring on any current Expedition saves but does not yet restore the Expedition to saves where the bug has already occurred.

• Temporarily disabled tenants texting about having just paid rent to reduce spam. Will be available again in the coming weeks once we implement text message filtering.
• Fixed another issue with multiplying workers.
• Fixed an issue with the option to reset control settings to default not working when in-game.
• Fixed an issue with rebinding LMB.
• Fixed an issue with music sometimes playing in the wrong key due to a pitch shift bug.
