Can I get something from the sale as a gift code, even if I don't own it?

I see things I have no interest in that a few people I know might like, but I can't see a way to do it...

It looks like you can only get a gift code if you already own the game.

Don't think so.

For some odd reason it's disabled unless you own it. (It's usually not the case, hope this doesn't become more prevalent in the future).

nigelbeans: Oh my word!!!!!! It just re-appeared! It was the quickest disappearing game I've seen! Just managed to nab it!
Did all of you who were looking out for it manage to get it?
Let me quote myself from the tracking thread:

This time I was like a ninja!

Yeah, baby!

This Insomnia already made my day (well more like night :-)

Thank you GOG! Now If only you could put Neverwinter Nights up there too...

Pity. Well, less money for GOG then?

EDIT: Though I guess GOG will get the sales one way or another. It's just disappointing.
So more money for me, then.

I just had a brilliant idea for the premise of a game. If anyone wants to develop, it feel free - I don't even want credit for it.

What does it involve? Well, it's kind of a real-time simulation. In the game you have a limited budget and you have to participate in a hectic sale with a round-the-clock stream of deals. It's pretty non-stop until the deals run out.

I'm sure there's plenty of scope to add a load of finer points to the game-play. I have some ideas, but would anyone like to make any suggestions?

What sort of challenges and rewards etc would you include in the game? :)

You sure about that? Because I have quite a few games as gifts that I did not owned before.
You just have to gift it to your own e-mail.

/EDIT: Oh you are right. Atleast for Insomnia Sale games it is deactivated unless you own it. I wonder why?

Offer a free game after a certain amount of games bought!
This War of Mine was gone so fast. Missed it.
"For example: after these 10 initial purchases and your first freebie, you will need to buy 9 more games to unlock your second free game, 8 for the third, 7 for the fourth and so on until you receive one free game for every 5 purchases."

this rule really sucks compared to old insomnia...
it was really fun to try to get a critical while waiting for the games that you would like to buy... also there was lots of gift thanks to that.
I would prefer if they gave us an option to choose one game between a selection of 5 random games.
So far I got games I already have on Steam.
I hope this sale lasts all the way to the 28th, my budget is a little tight until that day :-/
Has jotun come again?
