Klumpen0815: Witcher 3 Linux release on sale now!
No penguin in sight.

TwistedFate.385: Freebies aren't pulled from the 'for sale' pool. They are special free codes provided for giving away. Plus, logically it makes no sense. If they pulled free codes from the 'for sale' pool, how could they run out of freebies and still have copies to sell?
Option 2 then. When a game has X copies for sale, it is possible for more than X copies to be sold, so they'll be pulled from subsequent batches.

omega64: "Once upon a Time"
Oh boy, I loved that show - bingewatched it on Amazon Prime, after I watched the first episode out of sheer curiosity on a very boring day.

Never have I seen a show, in which even all the bad guys have something, that lets you have understanding for their deeds.

TwistedFate.385: What I don't understand is why they would have odd numbers in the first place. Who says, "Let's put 476 copies on sale, and sell them 25 at a time, except for the last batch."? Everything has been sold in multiples of 5 up til now.
avatar
Habanerose: Leftovers from former batches. Either more than the number of initial copies sold (lots of people hit "buy"), or some of them hit buy but then decided against it, which after some delay should put the games back into the pool.
I subscribe to the leftovers idea too. After the game was in your checkout this time, you got to buy it. I took minutes to finalize some of my purchases, while the game turnover continued on the main page. That's bound to have resulted in either over-selling certain batches of games, or under-selling when people chickened out in the checkout phase.

In previous insomnias, the game wasn't guaranteed yours until you actually got that "game is in your account' page. You could miss out on a game by not completing checkout fast enough. They may have changed it to allow a fairer shake for people with horrible connections or slow typing.

I agree with leftovers, not extras sold. They put 40 copies up for sale, pull 1 copy from total for everyone that puts it in their cart. After 40 people have it in their cart the sale goes away. Now if only 37 people actually purchase it, they have 3 left over, but 45 people can't add it to their cart, because their aren't 45 copies available.

Laberbacke: No penguin in sight.
Just teasing.
I knew that noone would fall for that, it would be too awesome to be true.

Habanerose: Unless they add new games... guess the sale's gonna end pretty soon.

Kinda sad they didn't even offer the Jack Keane games, for nostalgia purposes :P
avatar
saberstorm11: what if they end it with that XD
This is my hope. Like, 2000 copies of Jack Keane 2 as the very last sale.
Another reason for an odd size listing, people bailing after partly committing to buy.

I noticed this the other day but if you click on the game and it goes to where you need to checkout through paypal, you can go as far as logging into paypal but not pressing to pay. From there if you use the back arrow, GoG has no clue, it still thinks you are getting it as it's reserved while you're in the process. If you go into your order history it will show the game with a green button to pay up with the reduced price shown as listed.

Perhaps that's why? The game meter already hit 0 and moved along, and you backed away. So then the next one would get +X entries?
I missed the Metro Bundle? You mean it was only 50 copies alltogether? Wow.

Off topic and simply out of personal curiosity.
How different is programming with the OpenGL API instead of the DirectX one on even ground hardware?

Any code monkeys around who can actually provide an answer?

Or maybe they will be given away as a final freebie, as everyone should experience their greatness :P

I could, but I'm not terribly experienced with OpenGL, so I was waiting to see if somebody with more experience chimed in.
