Gengar78: Oh, thank goodness you warned me. I was considering trying it out but since there's a group of people that like it I guess there's no point now. I don't want to run the risk of liking it.
I know, would be a fate worse than death! :O
I think this thread is going really well.
I guess that just makes me a mainstream robot troll because all games that all of you hate to like I do like and enjoy playing! No game has ever been overrated ever!
Looks like BlueKronos is using the opposite of the flawed and antiquated scale the OP is using.

Don't let them post right next to each other! Like matter and antimatter, their posts will mutually annihilate and emit waste photons and one poorly-written game review!

I loved GTA: San Andreas, but I found GTA IV nearly unplayable not because of DRM but because of controls.

Maybe it plays better with a gamepad, but with KB+M I hated it.
Borderlands a.k.a. Boredomlands.

stg83: Alright how about I throw in one that no one will disagree with unless there are kids here that swear by it. ;)

MINECRAFT
I wouldn't called MInecraft overrated. I would call it "overdiffussed" tough.

Charon121: Bioshock. The game is basically the definition of overrated. I can't wrap my head around how clever people can believe that Bioshock introduced innovative moral choices when it's a very simplistic binary choice that's worse than what we had in RPGs many years before that.

nightcraw1er.488: +1, it was a load of tosh.
Each to their own I guess, it's one of my favourtie games of all time. I think it has an amazing atmosphere in a fantastically realised location and it genuinely makes me claustrophobic so much so that I need to take breaks now and then. Reading the novel really helps with immersion in the world as does a little bit of appreciation for the writings of Ayn Rand.

I will admit that the final battle is a let down but the twist preceding it is one of the best in gaming history.

Wolfehunter: My Wife!

The games she keeps playing with me I get pwned all the time.. If I don't be good I get no nooky ... :(
Try nookie while playing and combine the best two things life has to offer! Plus you will distract her and will be more likely to win.

bad_fur_day1: GTAV - Highly polished, huge world, dynamic character animation, fun diverse missions, awesome soundtrack, car mods, interesting story, physics, lip sync, motion capture, hundreds of actors, television, internet, cars, bikes, boats, planes, tanks, created by one of the most respected developers ever with perfect scores from every reviewer ever. OVERRATED!

Please tell me how you would make GTAV better. Removing all the theft of auto's? It can just be called Grand. You just stand there not doing anything.
oh perish forbid that somebody actually dares to agree with popular opinion
or has a opinion of their own

you might even think that people have a mind of their own and decide for themselves what they like and dont like
but thats unpossibrue right ?

real.geizterfahr: Skyrim. Looks beautiful and all that but it's one of the most boring games ever :/
Agreed. I tried to get into it, but it just seems boring and all grey and brown, no color.

If we weren't talking about games, I'd throw Doctor Who out there.
i think bioshock infinite belongs in the category of most overrated video games

snowkatt: any bioware game
I agree with this in general, but have you played Baldur's Gate II? It's the only game of theirs that I would call unqualifiedly great. KOTOR has its moments as well, even though it's messy and linear.
