Leucius: For games like Fallout 4, it makes no sense to buy the vanilla because you know there's inevitably going to be an ultimate/goty edition, just knowing Bethsoft's track record.
EA games are notorious for DLC post-launch too, but they've recently started giving mini-expansions versus "DLC" (I liken DLC to the crap that should have been in the game on day 1) - such as with Dragon Age: Inquisition - yes, there's a couple DLC's that are basically item giveaways, but the two pricey ones are mini expansions, one taking place after the main quest is finished (Jaws of Hakkon) and one taking place about halfway through (The Descent (?) ) - These are worthy of carrying the "DLC" moniker imho because they do more than add a "Shortcut to Golden Weapon X for $5"
I still don't like the concept of DLC on principle, but we are a vastly underrepresented portion of the gaming population. These days, I only get DLC that I feel is deserving of my hard earned money, or I skip it, since most of it is rubbish anyway.
My Point: I agree.
yeeeeaaaahhh, I may have to break my "don't buy a thing until GOTY" when it comes to fallout 4. Now i'm not gonna buy it day of, I"m gonna hear the reviews, but yeah, i needs it. Bethesda has me under their spell. although I did wait for Skyrim...
