dont usually go in for these crime thriller type films (usually find them very predicatble), but this one was pretty well done, and even had a twist i didnt expect.

Consider the film PRISONERS if you might be looking to watch something in that bracket.
Hmm....

Tired but wide awake. First World Problems.

How's it going everyone?

Thing's are alright, trying to get some gaming in. Playing a bit of "Life Is Strange Episode 2".

I'm doing just that myself. Icewind Dale Original. (oh what fun it is to turn Thief guards into cRPG characters :D)

I've been meaning to play Icewind Dale for years, I'm going to install that and try to get into it for once very soon.

Last I recall, I got stuck early on in a cave and got my butt kicked SO bad, I must have been doing something wrong, or created a very bad party.

Was it during a quest where you're supposed to see what happened to a couple caravans? There's a cave there that I'm trying to deal with right now.

I'm not sure, it was one of the first caves in the game, maybe a couple hours in, I can't remember what happened, if I got stuck and had no idea where to go, or my party would get wiped out in every single battle.
Ah that brings back memories of Eye of the Beholder 2 and crafting what I thought was a bad ass party, only to get my butt summarily handed to me shortly after starting a new game. :)
One reason I liked the Jrpgs a bit better was exactly because they preset the characters for what they knew you needed. Most of those games made sure that the challenges were a proper challenge for where your character ought to be when you got to that part. The freedom to really build your characters is also an invitation to guess very well or badly what the game developers had in mind.

I haven't tested it yet (Been too busy in SW:TOR which oddly, despite having many misgivings, I've fallen in love with) but I do own a copy of Pillars and I hear the creation process is so free that you can royally eff it up to the point where the game is unbeatable.

I'm thinking of starting IWD over for that very reason, seems like my party (and my planning) could have been a lot better.

Yeah... That's the thing with those games. Party creation is not for the faint of heart :)
