This might be a little more what you are looking for then
UFO
(Unidentified Flying Objects: The True Story of Flying Saucers) from 1956 the description on Netflix reads This part-drama, part-documentary examines sightings of unidentified flying objects -- UFOs -- in the U.S., particularly from 1947 to the early '50s. It's on instant in the US but not sure if they have the same selections in the UK.

UFOs arent really anything to do with that at all.

Indeed it does haha. Have you had any luck with your copy of Guild Wars 2?

Sachys: I'd suggest getting it on disc instead and cut out the dribbling middlemen.
Hadn't really thought of that, if it's DRM free, or if it uses something relatively similar like a CD Key/serial number offline activation then I might just do that. Thanks for the idea.

Speaking of the Elder Scrolls, I'm off to give Morrowind a second try, my first go around (two years ago or so) ended in hilarious fashion. Low on health and magicka, my character was in dire need of sleep and the DLC starting Assassin chose that night to jump my character in an inn, the only inn in the city I was in. It wouldn't have been so bad if I had been able to have the guards help me or while I fled like a coward but nooooo...he had to spawn in a locked room. Since he was technically hostile (but no threat to me) I couldn't sleep in the inn, and I didn't have enough health/magicka to risk trying to make it to another town. Good times...good times.

Edit: available to activate offline CD Key/serial number, not online activation.

The 5th anniversary edition of Oblivion GOTY is using a disc-check.

Thanks for the info, that's not too bad as long as that's all it uses.

Negative. I'm going to have to re-purchase it if I want to play it, and frankly there's so many mmo's out there, it seems silly.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Sorry that you didn't have any more luck than me, but I guess we can take it as motivation to not buy from Gamestop again (or at least think twice before we do).

My dad served on the QM - and I tried so many times to get hm to share his stories on film / audio, but he never would*. Then the Alzheimers and cancers happened.
This will give you a low level idea of the adventures he had.
This aint my dad - but almost the right era, some of the same stories (presumable crossover - may well have known each other) - yet nowhere near the depth.

Still, great watch / listen. More people should listen to the old - at least as far as stories of experience go... probably further.

it will be a year next saturday since my dad died. I hope to do a giveaway, I'd rather hope I can make people aware of Alzheimers and how it destroyed his ability and any motivation he may have had to help create something like this.

No need for any sentiment folks - dont appreciate it and neither would he. Would just appreciate you watching it quietly and with consderation for all factors.

TA!

Edit:
*at least as far as recordings go.

You probably already are aware of these but just in case:

Population control:
"Make Room! Make Room!" and "Soylent Green" (I confess that I never read the novel.)

Media manipulation:
"They Live"
"1984"

Cold War / Population control:
"Invasion of the body snatchers"
"Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb"
How are my hermits? Rockin' the loincloth with style, I hope.
