Ragnarblackmane: Ok so what exactly did he do once upon a time to be the butt of so many jokes in this thread?
To keep it simple, there were a few things he did that irritated a bunch of regulars (which are the ones usually making jokes). Beyond that, I don't know. If I say anything, it's mostly out of jest and for the sake of the joke (as I put myself at the butt of the jokes as well). I've always gotten along with him though. He's been generous to me and vice versa.

Treasure: Didn't know where else to post this random observation:
There's something interesting regarding this screenshot on the gamepage of HIND? On the bottom right corner there is this web address: -check especially this page [url=http://www.ellosnuncaloharian.com/hind/]http://www.ellosnuncaloharian.com/hind/. It seems then that GOG borrowed this screenshot(and maybe others as well) from said website.
At any rate, I was wondering whether they notified the website about this borrowing-not that I have anything against it(I mean GOG staff has other things to do than playing the game in order to gather screenshots-I guess-plus, some screenshots on other games are indeed their own). But credit should go where it's due, imo. :-)

Edit-technically, credit does go to that other website, but still, it's a bit weird seeing another website's screenshot on GOG...
But........they would never do it :P

I heard shades. Just tell me where to hide.

Well at least one person who might know this answered, thank you, although I'd like to see something from the other "regulars."

Really, Stooner is just the butt of the jokes because... primarily I think from he and I going back and forth with such things in ninja thread of old.
I think Sinistar has the BluRay collectors edition of this.
Androids, the kind you see in Blade Runner, Ghost in the Shell, and the Matrix (Perticularly The Anmatrix which shows the how the whole story began) Am I the only one who thinks that in reality androids serve no purpose in reality?

Really in reality what is the point of creating Synthetic Andriods that look human, especially making them look human.

In the Animatrix there was this grusome sequence with an Android female being abused and killed by people during a riot. This Android looked so real until they ripped off its synthetic "skin" showing the Robot inside (its skin even has nipples on its breast?) But my question is why do they make them so human? I don't see the use of human looking androids beeing applied today. Also the idea of having robots do everything. In this day and age where people complain about lack of jobs and opportunities why would we want androids to do are jobs for us?

Despite the reasoning in sci fi like Blad Runner, Ghost in the Shell, Alien, etc. I just don't see the point of Androids in reality?

Imagine if they would exist in limited quantities and not in the amount as they exist in your example? For works that are either too dangerous for humans or other reasons why humans cannot do the task (Medical care. Espionage. Communication, Sexbots etc.)

Also androids are supposed to be humanoids so that's why they look human ;)

Prah: Sexbots
lets face it, as soon as it is possible, these will be marketed - long before any military application. theres already those creepy weirdos with the "realistic" fuckdolls. all they need is some high end circuitry and animatronics and you have a basic android.

I understand humanoid, but why make them look complete human like the Terminator or Replicants or those in Ghost of the Shell. I just don't see the purpose of it being applied to reality.

Also my critique 3 of the 4 things you mentioned.

What if the andrioid malfunctioned before or during a surgery.

Espionage, I am certain the state an android is infiltrating will find ways to tell whether who is a person and who is a android sent by an enemy nation. And besides people are even more unpredictable than androids anyway.

Sexbots. Really? Seriously? No just no, its just wrong. People should just stick to porn or even cartoon porn if you want to avoid endangering a person in the porn buisness. Why watch playboy when we have quality drawn rule 34? (And not the freaky kind of pictures either. There are tame artists)

To make real humans more comfortable around them I always thought.

I suppose if we ever get to the point where we can create androids or robots to do all our work then we'd be at the point where money and jobs wouldn't be such a problem any more.

As far as doing menial jobs, I don't suppose realistic robots are necessary. Only for positions where realism might be required or desirable (like Prah's aforementioned sexbots)

Elmofongo: What I said about sexbots.
Considering most of the socially popular technologies in the last 20 years have become popular because of the sex industry... this wont be any different.

Consider it - nobody used the interent really, until porn became available on it. Mobile phones were primarily for business men and drug dealers, until MMS came around and people started getting porn and maing and sending porn on them.
Same with the printed word - one of the early popular prints was an erotic cartoon series.

VR will also be the same. Nobody will be buy the new headsets until a porntrepreneur makes an interactive porno with it.
