quite some time ago I decided to add a little variety to my library, both in terms of genres and game settings. I just added Pharaoh + Cleopatra, I wanted a city builder and it looks like a nice relaxing atmosphere. Also have Desperados 1 on a gift code which I may redeem myself as the western theme is appealing.

I just blundered here - meant to buy Guild 2 Renaissance and somehow ended up with Pirates of the European Seas. I think dumbassery on my part, but hoping support can swap those as they are same price, although it's late in the day and I suspect I may need to buy again to make sure of getting Renaissance.

Is it worth getting other Guild games? the reviews seem to suggest strongly that Renaissance is the pick of the bunch...

I have yet to play them, but Gothic II and III seem to be well thought of.

Aye not too sure on the city builders in there really... always end up hitting a brick wall of playability with them for some reason.

As to the guild games, I've only played Renaissance myself (having also read the same) and still cant get my head around it so I dont think I'm of much help. Really need to take a sunday afternoon and figure it out I think as its quite different from anything else I have.

Thought I'd missed something here - yes, I believe so, but have never played the original, and dont like picking up a series with a sequel / next game in series when they're relatively modern, so have been avoiding looking at it.

I got around this dilemma by picking up gift codes to redeem myself, or not, at a later time once I've picked up Gothic 1 and played it. The good folk of GOG community persuaded me to at least give it this much of a chance:

What does everyone think of nature conservation(yes, that was abrupt)?

Depends on the level of conservation you're referring to, as well as definition of "nature conservation", as many people have different ideas of it.

In my opinion, I believe importance in balance- we need to take care of our planet, and prepare renewable resources. But I do believe some people here in the US don't have a realistic view of what is going on, as there's a lot of propaganda mixed in with things.

Ended up getting Dark Fall 2 to complete the set (have #3 on steam for some reason - and the first on here already), and Chaser. Knowing my luck there will be a release this week or bundle I cant buy because of it! heheheh.
