48 million in a population of 325 million is 14.77%.

Edit: the number of food stamp is 43.5 million in 2016 so 13.38% of the US population is on food stamps.

Simple answer...because at least 8% of the people have such shitty jobs (either part-time or low paying or both) that they still qualify for food stamps...

Yup, sadly their isn't enough education to prepare peoplef or the future of the big industry jobs of computers and engineering. Plus corporations tend to like to higher vets on the cheap, instead of training a rookie.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics has 3 unemployment categories.

U3 is called the official unemployment number and as of November was 4.6%
U5 includes "discouraged and marginally attached" workers was 5.8%
U6 adds workers who are part-time "purely for economic reasons" was 9.3%

Not sure how exactly they make these distinctions, but gives an idea.

But the reality is she IS wrong. When you look for sexism, or racism, or homophobia by association, you find it where it's not. Just look at her videos. She finds it in the way avatars are dressed; she's looking at whether more or less butts are exposed; the existence of prostitutes or strip clubs in the games. Are there "enough" blacks in the videogames? Is someone trying to protect a woman? One thinks Japanese culture is completely backwards, that sort of thing...

Basically anything she can construe as sexist, racist, or homophobic is in her mind and she proves her approach in her videos. She seems incapable of looking at anything with an actual critical eye. She seems stuck on the concept that anything that can be construed as one of those things, necessarily is.
