RWarehall: Well, that scratches Carson off my list. Because any presidential candidate that seriously mentions Sharia Law and implying it could have any effect on U.S. law is just fear mongering. I don't need candidates who make up boogeymen to scare the general public into submission...

When a candidate does this in the campaign, can you really trust anything else they ever say again?
No, you have him mistaken. Ben Carson was actually referring to Sharia Law Jackson, a really shiny hoe with a weaponized booty who used to rock his world in high school. *rimshot*

Bit tired. That's all I got for monologue jokes today. See you folks back here tomorrow! Same GOG forum! Same GOG channel!

KakePro: People still talk about GamerGate? I thought this movement died down a few months ago.
A few days ago was the anniversary of it being declared dead
avatar
KakePro: I also liked it when 'gamers' wasn't some kind of negative term and associated with either psycho cyberbullies or corrupt money-hungry journalists.
I'd say blame the fearmongers
avatar
KakePro: I wish I could've ignored it, but it's hard when every single article on every single gaming site mentioned GamerGate
Trust me, the fact sites keep namedropping gamergate pisses of gamergate more than you think. Some people said racist things? Probably gamergaters. Someone says corruption is bad or is pro freedom of expression? Gamergater!

avatar
KakePro: In short, this whole thing is stupid, started over childish insults and continued with childish insults, and I wish video games could be about video games again and not bullshit politics. /rant.
Don't we all wish vidya was about vidya again?
like really
All we wanted were reviews that told us whether or not a game was worth our fucking cash, not who gave most money or who the hell the devs friends are.
But alas, wanting that was made equal to promoting rape and terrorism

Hey, don't forget the time when politics in vidoe games were rather loose and based mostly on historical events in stead of being downrigth propaganda.

hedwards: Isn't Carly's main qualification taking HP and flushing it down the toilet? And Carson's main qualification is being the least crazed black man they could find that's still willing to run on the GOP ticket.

LeonardoCornejo: Not exactly, I am not saying they are the best persons ever, but they are the best candidates. Sanders is too much of a pushover, Clinton is a horrible monster wearing the skin of a human, Trump is pretty much fucked up, and well, the other candidates have no real push. At least Carson says US law should never bend to Sharia law, and Fiorina stated her gender should not be a determining factor in her support.

But hey, I am only seeing it from an outside perspective and opposing Clinton because as I mentioned before she took part in the creation of something that harmed my country.
That's just because all the quality candidates have already fled the party. The only folks left are people that probably rode the short bus or regularly travel 12 to a car.

Carson is a complete nutter, he's already claimed that he would have stood up to that Oregon mass shooter. I find that, very, very hard to believe. Trying to score political points like that is absolutely disgusting.

noncompliantgame: There's absolutely no evidence that Shaggy is a stoner. Harvey Birdman proved that.

Growing numbers of individuals today believe the old left-right socio-political paradigm is increasingly obsolete.

LeonardoCornejo: I never had the chance to watch Harvey Birdman :(
...

Enjoy! :-)

...

And in other news. Libertarianism and Agorism. Which has everything to do with games, gaming, gamers and those who hate and wish to destroy and/or control the afore mentioned - just don't get sexually aroused in South Dakota (watch the vid and find out).

If you ask me, I think all candidates suck. But there is no way in which I would support Clinton or Trump, Clinton took part in the destruction of my country and Trump is just like a president we had over this side of the river called Vicente Fox, by far not the worst ever and certainly not worse than those after him, but still sucked.

personally, I'd say Bernie, but he needs to learn to stand up to bullies first. Bernie with +5% of Trumps self confidence

Kind of agree with you.

But I don't want to talk about election candidates from a country I don't live anymore. Not for now, not here. I think there are more pressig matters.

You are free to still talk about that, but I will no longer do.

I refuse to vote for Clinton. If she winds up in the final election, I might get stuck voting for her in order to avoid the GOP candiate, but I certainly won't vote for her in the primary.

I'm with Dragonbeast, I'll be voting for Bernie. I know that he doesn't have a snowball's chance in Hell of being elected, but I don't like or trust any of the other candidates.

That's generally a wise policy. But, this is the US, and for better or for worse, our choice will have a huge impact on people who lack the right to vote for our President.

I just wish we could put even half the money we put into bombing brown people into solving some of our pressing issues like income inequality and climate change.

hedwards: If we ignore it, then they win.
They already won. Attention and ammo for their sob stories is what they wanted, and they got it in droves. Now these 'journalists', as much as I dislike to call them that, are now heroes of the feminist gaming movement because they don't like a virtual character's tits being too big and a bunch edgy teens called them bad names over email. The GG issue is a stalemate at best and a complete GG loss at worst. I don't really see any way to salvage it at this point.

The real tragedy of this whole thing isn't that a bunch of corrupt nobodies got fame and fortune off of stupid shit, but that bigger problems are being swept under the rug because of the 'evil mean cyberbullies ;(', like questionable DLC practices, unfinished products being released left and right, and general corruption within big name video game companies. I almost feel like it was intentional.

That was just level 1 now we're on level 2 & of course the enemies have to be harder now.

Seriously, I'm seeing signs that non-gamers can see the BS lately so while the opposition may "feel" they have won. IMHO the tide may be turning against them.

They got their five minutes of fame. But it was just that - a flash in the pan. For a normal person this would be enough but don't forget Anita and Wu and the other ones more or less live off this shit. The more attention they crave, the more the say, the more they say, the more likely they are to fuck up and hit a nerve the normies can relate to. And when that happens, which logically there is a possibility of, they'll be exposed. As to a feminist gaming movement existing at all, IMO it is difficult to say they do. They achieved nothing, do nothing but start a storm over the most specific of stuff and believe so much that their way is the right way that they never question if it is in fact the right way. So the LWus can be the leaders of this phantom movement if they want to, but the most they'll achieve is enough money to carry their privileged hipster lifestyles. A parasite as it were. Not benefiting the larger organism but not negatively affecting it unless it is in large numbers.

This isn't about some feminist-shaped battle between men or women... or even shitlords vs white knight SJWs. This is about a small group of fortune seeking journalist/activists vs consumerism itself. They have blogs and a tiny handful of media outlets on their side. On the other side is a collection of the largest game producers and digital distribution sites, not to mention the gamer fanbase and all their 'discretionary cash.' In five years, Anita, Zoe, and Brianna will be looking for speaking engagements or teaching jobs in some midwest junior college. The rest of us will all still be playing video games. The big boys with all the money know this, and they know where they get the fuel to keep the machine running. It's no contest. University campus crusaders will never hold a candle to the sheer power of the marketplace. Thought is action, action is interaction, interaction is energy, energy is PROFIT.

Since the vehicle for this particular fight is video games, then reply to that call of duty and go load up a game of whatever you're playing at the moment. We only lose when we admit defeat and stop buying and playing video games. They used to have a saying about the 3 political solutions. There was the ballot box, the jury box, and the cartridge box. We should add another box to that list... the console box. So go do your part, soldier!
