Truth revealed : SPJAirplay WAS THE BOMB. The threat to aGGros was too great. Its must be silenced!

I hope they get those assholes, and I really don't care 'on what side' they were.

Airplay had just about everything for a fun meetup — Derek Smart, recently justly fucked by German journalists for blatant Early Access user abuse, posing as a "neutral developer" (he qualifies for neither), and of course Milo Y taking a very short break from giving kiss ass and allegedly paid coverage for Donald Trump.

Why in the hell would one want to break that up? When it's practically done to boot? We would all have laughed about the hilariousness for years. :(

So. I have been bussy with college, Warframe, and personal issues. And I just saw the SPJ event happened today. Coud someone give me a sumary? Also I would like to know what is going on with the bomb thing.
Did anything come of the DC Bomb threat when GG was meeting up?

Nothing came out of the bomb threat. It was just faked to silence the conversation. #SPJAirplay trended in the US with this message : https://twitter.com/whenindoubtdo/status/632635027734441984
So yes; I'd say that with the involvement of the SPJ and their confirmation in the first panel that gaming journalism indeed has an ethics problem, the yellow hipster ''journalists'' will be a bit more inclined to do their homework before writing their hit pieces.

@Vain;
GG stopped searching for aGG's approval long ago. If aGG indeed believes there is some problem with the movement they could've made normal people to believe through reason and evidence, they would've come to debate at SPJAirplay. If a plaintiff doesn't show up for trial, it speaks more about what the plaintiff did than what the accused did. You guys would be laughing but no one would be listening. Some people are impenetrable and its no use trying to talk. That is why the email campaigns exist in the first place.

Oh yeah, the doxers' twitter posts : https://imgur.com/a/QvZMl
Hay guyz, I missed SPJ Airplay but heard there were bomb threats that forced them to evacuate and a bunch of people doxxed. Can't find anything on Kotaku or Polygon or Gamespot about it, though. Aren't they historically, like, totally appalled by bomb threats and doxxing?

Curious.

Well; you don't expect outlets of such historically large journalistic integrity to write something without getting the facts straight do you? I mean; you gotta wait for dem facts man.
Kotaku might report on an alleged bomb threat to an alleged ethics talk led by poor minorities discussing whether its ethical in conducting doxxing on misogynists by gamergators because gators are against women in gaming and bombs are misogynistic and Arthur Chu is a mini white knight riding a gender positive donkey to a pride parade thing.

Heh heh, I was going to say something like that, too.

I really did miss the event, though. Heard conflicting reports of how well it went, leaving me with the general impression that it started off strong, but started to derail. And then they finished outside after evacuating and no one has seen that yet? Is that about right? I don't have the time to actually watch it anytime soon (I'm assuming someone recorded it and put it online somewhere).

The first panel was bang on, with the ethics watchdog people saying there is an ethics problem in gj. The 2nd panel was about how the MSM should cover such controversies as GG. The 2st and 2nd parts had different people on the GG side. This 2nd session had a journalist who I can't remember, Christina Hoff Sommers and his fabulousness Milo. The proGGs went on about past depictions and the moderator didn't want that. It was too long IMO for all three to give their opinions on the past coverage but a basic understanding of the past reporting should've been also heard, IMO. Milo kept talking over the moderator and the watchdog guys. While I agree the message that the 2nd panel conveyed was not too bad, I believe it was too defensive considering the 1st panel didn't move into the speculative harassment that the SJs propagate. It seems Milo came in expecting to be accused and talked like he was.
Although, IMO the SPJ moderator and journos were slightly lacking in understanding on the use of anonymous sources and I think the GGs could've made the point of contacting an online personality without disclosing their identity. Like, if you're speaking to the original raplhretort account; that is the original person behind it because its his account.
The course of the discussions were disrupted and everyone went outside and the official stream died. The indie dev was streaming the events outside from his phone via Periscope and Sargon was streaming the Periscope stream so I headed over to it since the original peristream was laggy for me.
The stream showed a drone being sent in and the police and pupsquad arriving. Then he just walked around talking to the people. I did see him talking with a morning panel proGGer about it but Sargon's friend was talking over it because the girl was hot and I didn't catch much of it other than they mostly agreed. I think the rest of the debate was filmed somewhere sle and if they were, they'll be up today or tomorrow.

Cool, every single individual who participates here (ir)regularly should share credit for inclusion with those other websites on that list (including the antis! X-D) and naturally, let us remember, give praise to GOG for facilitating the existence of this space.

Kotaku and Polygon want us dead, please peruse the Gamergate Wiki Boycott List and the Gamergate Wiki Support List, also included forthwith on Gamergate Wiki for assistance in empowering individuals with informed decision making processes Facts about Kotaku and Facts about Polygon.

There's a thorough going account of the event from Gamepolitics.com, I can't confirm its veracity myself in-so-far-as I didn't have the opportunity to watch, no doubt there will be or is already highlights or the event in its entirety available for viewing somewhere.

Sigh.......They come with one more harassment group narrative, I'm lending a few hands in the next email campaigns.

I see you have identified the guilty "party" based on no evidence at all, and are ready for activism because of that identification.

But you are wrong...

And, uhhh, while we're at it...

It's quite, quite obvious what the bomb threats and doxxes SHOULD teach people instead... the people who just want to see the world burn are unlikely to be your direct ideological opponents.

I'd be careful about trusting the word of trolls, Vain. Not automatically assuming it's anti-GG is totally on point, though; if we jump to conclusions and start throwing people under buses based on who we feel is responsible, then we're really no better than the outrage machine that is game journalism.

I know, I was being disingenuous to point out their hilarious double standard when it comes to harassment. If a single person they like had been doxxed, they'd have put out a million articles screaming bloody murder and trying to tie it into their narrative of gamers being terrible human beings. Multiple doxxing and bomb threats against those they don't like, though? "Oh, nothing to see here." It's like they go out of their way to prove our point.
