If you really want my take...what happened is what I would expect from a journalistic website. An article slipped, they corrected it in a timely manner. The ironic thing seems to be all the SJWs who seem to want to attack them over it. As if they were waiting to find something to criticize. This partially proves the point of the article itself.

I'll take this any day over the yellow journalism of other sites. Let's see VG24/7 who goes attack dog on Mark Kern but when he asks for an opportunity for a rebuttal is told they only print articles from the people they want. Biased much?

Or Kotaku whose lead anti-Gamergate writer doesn't believe journalists should be objective. Essentially he believes they are entitled to write any one-sided crap they want to (and he does).

Compare Reaxxion's actually acknowledging an issue in a timely manner versus any of the rest of these hacks from Kotaku or Polygon and I don't see an issue at all.

But hey, just another day in the typical SJW, find an isolated incident, cherry-pick it, and then claim its rampant throughout all of Gamergate. Basically a bunch of lying, deceiving asshats...

In the end, it's just a bunch of activists fighting another bunch of activists. Well, I didn't read the article (yet, cos this discussion is certainly getting me interested...), but I at least have a few times said I don't really identify as GG, but certainly I'm anti anti GG, so to speak... you could say that's being anti SJW I guess, and considering I see most radical activism as ineffective or counterproductive (of which SJW is perfect example) that's nothing to do with moral intent, or being a XYZist. Of course logic being what it is, I guess the personalize, polarize rule for radicals will continue to be used willy nilly.

I guess the tl,dr is if the article is anti sjw, ill probably find opinions that I agree with, motives will depend, and only tangential relevance to gg.

ncg is continuously injecting this thread with articles from Roosh "Bang Iceland" V.'s site and a whole lot of videos from Davis "women, in our society, have become the most decadent sluts since the fall of Rome" Aurini. His posts are usually not commented on, but some get rated quite highly.

He's factually undermining this thread with the most misogynist, opportunist, politically charged and conspiracy theorist stuff the supposedly diverse gamergate movement tries to pull off.

I am honestly interested in whether his opinions, by popular vote, stands for gamergate supporters as present on the gog forums.

Nothing more, nothing less.

I've been a vocal GG ally/supporter/whatever, but I'm not throwing my lot in with those guys. Too much schmooze. Strikes me as feigning support for something to drum up some cheap traffic, and manipulating people for one's own benefit is kind of what I've spent the last 6 months irritated about.

You really can't blame anyone for jumping behind anyone willing to take GG's side, though. After however many months of being constantly belittled, misrepresented, and undermined, even having the devil in your corner can be a bit of a relief. We have far more eloquent, level-headed people, though, and I'd much prefer standing in TotalBiscuits corner to supporting those who write like we're on the precipice of a feminism-sparked WW3.

To be honest, most of the Reaxxion links have been rather decent articles. The last one being rather over-dramatic and exaggerated, but...

The fact that there are people such as Leigh Alexander who have come out on Twitter to say they do this to support their causes and will continue writing articles doing so shows some level of cooperation among activists. Heck, when Zoe Quinn tweets on Twitter and her followers are all filings claims trying to get her ex-boyfriends lawyer disbarred shows a level of mob action.

I think its naive to believe all these actions are completely unconnected. You have petition drives to get games banned for "violence against women" that do not specifically target women. You have $100,000+ going to some no-name idiot merely because she claims harassment for her Kickstarter merely because she was just trying to expose how misogynist video games are. Do you really think that was going to fly without complaint? Seriously? And how much money?

You have so many idiots misusing the word misogyny (such as you Vainamoinen). Most of the dislike for these groups is not because of hatred of women in general, but rather the goals these particular groups of mostly women have in mind. Things like changing the future of video games, removing the violence, getting games these women object to banned, and making them into just stories women will like. The truth is they have been working on these goals long before most people heard of Zoe Quinn. Just look back to all the battles the GTA franchise has been enduring for a number of years.

Well, a lot of factual realities are taboo nowadays, whether you see those as resulting from political conspiracy, collusion of interests, or just coincidence of goals and methods. And I'm kind of sure, that in typical anti GG fashion, you're injecting the misogyny angle as fundamental where it is actually superficial. That said although I see logical value in extreme MRA as well as in extreme Radfem views, I'd say both approaches are too pathological = predominantly emotional in an unbalanced way. Like bad laws follow from focusing on specific situations, bad ideologies follow from focusing on emotions, ofc, maybe that's sexist... empathy over reason, bla bla...
