Yeah, so right after my exam I was supposed to hop on a bus then on a plane and spend the next couple of days in Berlin with some friends, all expenses paid (including the plane tickets) by the person I was staying at. It was a tight schedule but it was manageable, just go from the exam straight to the bus station and then hop on the plane. I had around 30 minutes since the bus arrived at the airport til the plane took off.
One thing I forgot though is that buses can be late :( Yep, I had around 40 minutes delay and the plane already took off. I was the only one in that situation because the rest of the people who went to Gatwick (the airport) were doing the "be here with 2 hours before take off" thingy and I was not.
So here I am, typing this in the airport on my cell, waiting for the 16:50 to take me back home. This was a totally shitty day!
Why the heck can't I find a pair of jeans that I like the look of? I absolutely hate buying pants, more than everything else clothing related.

Even shoes? You can't hate ANYTHING more than shoe shopping. It's just not possible. Universe would implode.

I do it rarely and mostly buy snickers/Converse. But they're somewhat less than pants shopping.

Kingoftherings: And secondly, I only make $9 an hour, 20 hours a week. I can't work more hours than that because of my school schedule. I work as a programmer too; I'm getting cheated so bad by my boss. I could flip burgers for more than I make programming.

it depends on what field are you programming and the complexity of the job. Remember you are 19, a student and supposed to have no experience at all then you can't ask for a full pay. I myself study programming(am 20) but working as a QA tester with ~350 euros a month with nothing to motivate but the career opportunities. Starting a career really sucks...
My employment agency is making me go to their office once a week and look for jobs from 9:30 till 4 when there is only at most 5 jobs available in my crappy town, none of which i'm qualified to do and they gave me shit for applying for them anyway.

Jobfind.
I'm going to join the army but it takes like 2 months to process applications so I'll have to do all this shit even though i'll likely have a fulltime job very soon.
This may very well be more technical and go over some heads but in short I just got off the phone with one of our small datacenter techs who was literally in tears.
How many of you are running HP EVA storage systems in production? Here's a quick question you might not have considered. What happens in the event that all of the cache batteries on the HSV controllers go offline?
The controllers flush all outstanding writes then immediately take every single vdisk offline.
That's bad. Your VMDKs and VHDs were all hosted on that EVA, so all of your VMs have just halted. That's really fucked things up. But it's ultimately manageable since you've got a spare battery amongst your set of emergency spares.
So you power down the HSV controllers and insert a fresh battery. You power on the controllers. What happens next?
The HSV controller assumes that the same batteries are installed and sets the EPROM on the newly installed battery to "failed".
Oh shit. This is getting serious. All of your vdisks are still offline, and there's no more cache batteries onsite.
But that's ok right? You've got a maintenance contract with HP. Phew! So you give them a call and request the manual override that brings the vdisks online. What happens next?
There isn't an override. The internal architecture of the EVA dictates that no cache batteries = no vdisks = no exceptions.
And this is why I'll never let a business use virtualisation wherever I can help it. Physical hardware is a lot more expensive but a fuck of a lot less vulnerable to a single fault bringing down an entire datacentre
My fucking dog ate my laptop charger and now I can either spend $110 for one at Walmart or $13 on Amazon. Has been dead for a week, and I am sick of waiting for my damn check to be cashed.

The dog or the laptop? Chargers sound dangerous.

My roommate had a puppy for a few weeks (babysitting it for a family member) while I was in college. One day I came home and plugged in my external cd-drive and it exploded. The dog had partally chewed through the cord. My hand was ok, but a little black.

Which is why I hate pets.
