The Outspoken Authors Bundle

Blurb:

What brings together writers as Karen Joy Fowler and Paul Krassner, Kim Stanley Robinson and Marge Piercy? Outspokenness. All the authors in this bundle seek not just to entertain, but to resist, agitate, and confront with their fiction and their non-fiction.

The Outspoken Author series is unique: it covers the gamut of genres, from hard SF to crime and literary fiction, and it collects the underappreciated and hard-to-find work of legendary figures in an accessible format. Not only is there fiction, the authors offer up essays, transcripts of talks and speeches, and ruminations about the writing life. Each volume concludes with an in-depth interview conducted by series editor Terry Bisson, and these go deep: you'll learn about everything from revelations about drag personas to dissections of Trotskyism in the United Kingdom.

Never has a single StoryBundle offered work by so many of speculative literature's most important figures: Ursula K. Le Guin, Samuel R. Delany, Michael Moorcock, and many others. We're offering twenty-three volumes in DRM-free digital formats that are yours to keep till freedom reigns over the world.

How often does Story Bundle have a scifi/fantasy bundle?
I'd say well over half of their bundles are sf/fantasy, but they are very tightly themed. So you may find a lot of them not to tastes.

The After the Apocalypse Bundle

Blurb:

When we looked at all the books we've published about the Apocalypse, the first thing that struck us was the sheer range. From fantasy worlds, to a Lagos filled with fallen gods; from a killer virus that leaves only one blood type, to a strange group of sleepwalkers; from a story about the last remnants of Earth's people, to a new society filled with justice that has risen out of the ashes.

No two Apocalypse stories are the same; every one varies in place, in reaction and in cause – but they're also all about the survivors. They're about the people left behind, trying to live in a world that's suddenly changed. And that's why we love them so much: it's not just about the disaster, in whatever form it takes. In these stories, it's personal.

The Bundoran Buddies Sci-Fi Bundle 2

Blurb:

Science fiction has always asked the tough questions – "what if" and "if this goes on" – but we've also dreamed of the alternatives, the if only solutions to hard problems.

When I first started to put together this bundle, no one had even heard of the novel coronavirus, yet here we have a set of novels and short story collections perfectly suited to the times.

Tales of grim struggles and valiant achievement, stories of the best of the human spirit, and, yes, some ripping yarns to carry you away, this bundle has it all.

Dark Corridor by Jennifer Rahn

--
It's raining book bundles at storybundle, 3 in 10 days, and 5 in total running at the moment. More balanced mixed with a fair few stand alone novels.

Anybody else find it weird that for audiobooks which are downloads amazon squeeze a book cover from the physical book into an image the shape of a cd cover?
The Boss Battle Game Bundle

The Anatomy of Mega Man dissects Mega Man 2, the franchise's most beloved entry, to better understand why it made an indelible mark on the industry.

Take a deep dive into the history of Blizzard Entertainment with David L. Craddock's Stay Awhile and Listen: Book I, which covers the early years of the WarCraft and Diablo sagas. In Stay Awhile and Listen: Book II, the newest entry in the "Stay Awhile" trilogy, delve into the making of Diablo II and StarCraft, and the culture of Blizzard Entertainment and Blizzard North.

The Best of British SFF Bundle

Blurb:

Britain has a long and illustrious history of science fiction and fantasy. The fog-filled streets of Victorian London have given us Jekyll & Hyde and Dracula, while H.G. Wells took his unnamed Time Traveller from nearby Richmond to the ruins of future London (and had England invaded by Martians a few years later).

It feels surreal to be writing this as the world is in the grip of a pandemic, and Britain itself, like much of the rest of the world, is on lockdown, in scenes that could only have been dismissed as science fiction a few weeks ago. Or years. How long has it been? I have lost the sense of time by now. As we're all holding on, many, including the writers here and elsewhere, have been affected. Bookshops and newsstands are closed, publishers are laying off staff and delaying books, and all of us are feeling the pinch. Buying this bundle will help the small publishers included here, from Apex and NewCon to Solaris and Tachyon – the very independent publishers who continue to champion exciting new voices and works.

Finally, this bundle will help, in however small a way, my favourite magazine. Locus was established in 1968, and has become the single most important news source for the SF/F field, offering unparalleled cover, in-depth reviews and author interviews, and so much more. They have won the Hugo Award more times than I can mention. The effect of the shutdown has hit Locus hard. As a non-profit, they rely on a mixture of traditional revenue and on donations. Your purchase of this bundle will raise some much needed cash to help Locus weather the current apocalypse – and we all need Locus.

$5

Empire Dreams by Ian McDonald (short stories)
Silver Screen by Justina Robson
Wake Up and Dream by Ian R. MacLeod
Paris Adrift by E. J. Swift

$15

A Man Lies Dreaming by Lavie Tidhar
Coil by Ren Warom
The Best of Michael Moorcock by Michael Moorcock (short stories)
Best of British Science Fiction 2018 by Donna Scott (short stories)
Best of British Fantasy 2018 by Jared Shurin (short stories)
The Iron Tactician by Alastair Reynolds (novella)

Oh this one looks to have the good stuff.

The Mysterious Women Bundle

Blurb:

Anyway, what's getting me through the tough days is fiction. And more than that, it seems, stories about crime are getting me through. Which makes sense when you think about it. The entire mystery genre is about putting order on chaos.

Because I'm doing that, I figure you might want to as well. So I put some of my favorite female authors together into this StoryBundle. All of us write about crime, but we do it in different ways.

$5

Paper Bullets by Annie Reed
New Year's Shenanigans by Juliet Nordeen
A Gentleman of the Old School by Katie Pressa (volume 1)
Fiction River Presents: Mysterious Women edited by Gwyneth Gibby (StoryBundle Exclusive!) (short stories)

$15

The Spy Girl Files by Christy Fifield (short stories)
Deviance by J.F. Penn
Scared to Death by Rachel Amphlett
Protectors by Kris Nelscott
Love Among the Thorns by Lyn Worthen
