The Amazing and Impossible Animals Bundle

Blurb:

We are not alone. Indeed, in many ways we are the newcomers. When the genus Homo gained sentience, we were able to perceive the aliens around us—the world of animals—in entirely new ways. We worshipped animals, ran from them, hunted them, domesticated them, consumed them and in turn were consumed by them. We even imagined impossible animals to guard us, beguile us, and thrill us.

And of course, we humans, the only species who can write, turn our minds and pens to the world of animals, both actual and impossible. Wouldn't it be great to talk to the animals, or transform into one? Wouldn't it be terrible if you went outside and were just pecked to death by birds, right now? This bundle has it all.

Looks like $25 is the new. I usually only find a few strong books in each bundle and from that perspective starting to make them a bit pricey.

The Unusual Heroes Bundle

Blurb:

Heroes. They save the world. Or their world. Or the people they love. And they do it in unexpected ways. The culture teaches us to look for heroes in the square-jawed alpha male, but the true heroes are unexpected. They step up from their mundane lives to take on vast threats…and defeat them. In this StoryBundle, you will find nearly a dozen heroes, none of whom would have described themselves as heroic at the start of their adventure. Join them in saving a little corner of the world by picking up a bundle and donating to World Central Kitchen, which saves corners of our world, every single day.

The 2025 Best of British SFF Bundle

Blurb:
This is, if you can believe it, the fourth Best of British Science Fiction and Fantasy bundle I have the pleasure of curating for StoryBundle! We've had some turbulence over here in recent years, not to mention rain, rain and more rain, but SF/F in Britain is livelier than ever, as I hope this selection shows! From cutting-edge horror to award-winning science fiction and classic fantasy, there is, I think, a terrific variety in the fiction that comes out of the British isles. So, without further ado, here they all are – and I hope you enjoy them as much as I have!

$5

Best of British Science Fiction 2023 edited by Donna Scott (short stories)
Mothtown by Caroline Hardaker
The Midas Rain by Adam Roberts (novella)

$25

All the Fabulous Beasts by Priya Sharma (short stories)
Moon's Artifice by Tom Lloyd
Neom by Lavie Tidhar
Terrible Worlds Revolutions by Adrian Tchaikovsky (3 novellas)
Morpho by Philip Palmer
The Creator by Aliya Whiteley (novella)
Him by Geoff Ryman

--
This is interesting, despite them sneaking one item from last years Best of British bundle into the Tchaikovsky book. A couple of the novels are from locus recommended reading lists and since the general years best SF don't seem to have survived covid, it might be time to look at some of the narrower ones.

Damn the first greatest hits games bundle was 4.5 years. That was good stuff 100 books and it had more diverse books. I look most of these are the ones which are basically collections of online articles. I found those less interesting from the first bundle.

Lucky find this one, saw the new D&D bundle and thought I'd have a look at the books and a decent fiction but not game related fiction bundle.

Skews very Fantasy heavy, with only a couple that could be SF but seems high quality and some very highly rated authors. I mean despite having the Lavie Tidhar and picked up a few more in other bundles and even a couple by themself they found a new one for me there.

The 2025 Space Opera Sisterhood Bundle

Blurb:

What is it about space opera that makes us love it so much? The action, the exotic settings, the colorful characters, the alien species? The promise of countless adventures in the face of the great unknown?

Or is it mostly just the incredible wow factor of all the ships…the technology…the planets…the ray guns and laser swords? In many ways, it's the ultimate escapist genre, transporting us to places and situations that dwarf our everyday troubles. And yet, at its heart, space opera is all about us—what it means to be human, and how we can triumph over our human limitations.
