GOG Team and their sponsors has done nothing to be appreciated for. They did this for money, not because they want "Good Old Games" to be available for everyone, or at least those who didn't have a chance to play them back then, or because of some other, esoteric idea, like idealistic world without DRM and/or being platform for indie developers.

Seriously - they did it for hard bucks and because they filled a niche - they succeeded. There were no Legends of Morals involved and no Titans of Ethics participated in their creation.
