triock: That's not what I asked, but if that's your answer, okay.
No, if you do not post "thank you" it does not necessarily mean that you don't mean it. It could simply mean that you don't place an importance on the comment section or it could mean that you come from a culture where the communication is more matter-of-factly and less emphasis is placed on etiquette.

Allright, I can respect this, but for me that's 1 more reason to leave this group.

Back to giveaways, then: http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/vMX3V/bastion (open for 1 day).

Bastion is a well narrated action-RPG that talks metaphorically about a break-up and piecing the world together after that. Literally.

Feel free to comment or not comment as you wish.

Btw, thank-you for your well-considered responses via PM the other night. I am always interested to learn about other cultural norms and really appreciated your informative replies ;-)

Also, to others that commented, thank-you for your supportive comments. My current thoughts are that basic manners are important but I can accept that other cultures find a "throw-away thank-you" to be derogatory. There does not appear to be a satisfactory "one-size fits all" solution so I'll allow myself to live with the dichotomy.

That being said, I do know that many generous people stop gifting when their gifts do not appear to be appreciated. They leave this group and find other means to give to those that are willing to abide by some basic societal rules such as commenting in a giveaway thread. Frankly, this is how we, as a community, connect with each other - written words indicating our presence.

~anyway, I do appreciate everyone that contributed to the discussion ;-)~

Alright we have had this issue since the day this group was created , you know there is no way to enforce this without enraging other half of the community, you know what happened when we did that.

I request the gifters once again please don't post rants, issues in the giveaway thread , it is meant for giveaways only and thanks for the giveaways .
please use the other gog giftclub v3 thread and pm the mods and admins if you feel someone is super inactive or ungrateful is winning and entering a lot.

If you feel someone has not deserved to win the giveaway you made , i Suggest you make a personal blacklist of such people whom you feel should not enter your giveaways.
when you create your giveaway post the blacklist saying these people should not enter the giveaway.
If they do enter , we will know who these ungrateful people are and something can be done about them.

I request all members again , please do not post rants and issues here.

Thank you for being so generous in giving away games.

No rant here (I really couldn't care less about the number of "thanks for x" comments on my giveaways. Giving is rewarding enough all by itself for this weirdo):

http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/98WhV/wizardry-6-7-and-8

As per usual, it will remain open for 2.5 days.
PSA : the sg sync feature is broken and will not sync groups 90% of the time , keep trying it till it does untill then you won't be able to enter the giveaways.
even if it syncs no groups will be sync'd so check again properly.

Also just noticed that some of my comments i wrote in the giveaways never showed up, Steamgifts is having some major time out issues which means
you enter a giveaway, you write a comment and submit it , if the site times out , your comment will not be posted so double check again.

I read the forums , some are saying they servers are overloaded due to ddos

Edit : again another issue where it says"switch to public profile when the profile is already public"

I guess that is an absolute slap in the face, liquidsnakehpks. A while back I had an issue, contacted darknarth who never deigned to get back to me and now you tell me I should be PM'ing moderators? You guys need to get your act together.... At best a PM to me instead of a public slap in the face would have been a much better first step than this post.

But hey, different cultures, different styles ;-) Estonian's consider thank-you's to be slaps in the face and now Indian's consider problematic comments to be an issue when they haven't shown their face in months in either thread... Sheesh, I need a freaking guidebook ;-p

But no need to say anything more. You convinced me that gifting to an international group that can not spare two effing seconds to comment when they enter to win my hard-earned cash spent on gifts for this group is foolish and stupid. I get it now - stupid me;-) I thought I was wanted and appreciated here! Clearly I was wrong. But no worries, I'll just show myself out. No problem at all...

Momo, i think liquids post was a general one to all members and not anyone in particular (as I stated earlier in this thread, and also to you before you joined - this kind of thing has been an issue before). So maybe calm yerself a little?!

Also, no idea what yer on about in reference to cultures lass! O_O? - Doesn't make any sense!

Well, since I began this brouhaha, I'd say that liquid's post was pretty directly pointed in my direction.

But hey, it isn't a problem any longer. I personally believe in common courtesy but I've been informed that a) other cultures don't and b) stop complaining in this thread. So no worries - I can spend my hard-earned cash elsewhere and get plenty of appreciation for doing so or hey, maybe even buy myself a game instead ;-)

Oh and I am very calm - I'm not having any kind of anger issues but rather I am very clear that my feelings are hurt. That is a much different thing than being angry and not being calm. This is a very rational decision... I don't like feeling used by many members of this group. I personally object to giving gifts to people that seemingly can't be bothered to comment when they enter one of my giveaways. It is very simple and not something to get upset about - there are plenty of other places to gift so no worries about me. ;-)

She's referring to me saying that not all cultures have universal rules for saying thank you. Some say it less, some more often, etc.
alright lets stop that talk now . momo does have a lot of concerns, many of you do
if you think a certain person sticks out like a thumb , let us mods and admins know about in pm and other thread please , now i am keeping tabs on some people are already reported by others as inactive in the gog forums , not actively posting thanks etc, something will be done about it , if they continue this for longer but leaving the group is not the answer you know it better , who knows maybe they will upgrade the gog forums and we can track the users better and implement better rules. Stick around and try to find good people as friends .

please keep this thread as a positive job done by the group aka giveaways and thanks and appreciation for the giveaways and nothing else, we have the pm and other thread for a reason

It pains to repeat this again , we are all human beings yes sometimes we do forget to thank people , but anyone whos a member of this group please make it a habit to post thanks in any giveaways you enter , or here .
The gifters dont ask you to give a game back for winning just thank them wherever you can here or steamgifts .
